Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Could be Colin Kaepernick’s Ticket Back to the NFL

With the scandal-plagued owner of the Carolina Panthers set to sell his franchise after 2017, rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has expressed interest in purchasing the team and has said he’d sign controversial quarterback Colin Kaepernick as competition for the team’s current leader, Cam Newton.

Richardson announced his intention to sell the Panthers after more than 20 years as their owner following a Sports Illustrated story involving multiple women who alleged sexual harassment by the owner, as well as his use of a racial slur towards a scout no longer with the team. The NFL is currently investigating the matter.

Combs immediately voiced interest in purchasing the franchise on social media, and it’s no joke, yo.

Combs repeated his intentions in a video posted to Instagram, where he pledged to sign Kaepernick to the club.

“I will immediately address the Colin Kaepernick situation and put him in the running for next year’s starting quarterback,” Combs said in a video. “It’s just competition, baby. It’s just competition.”

Brilliant. Sign a police-hater who couldn’t even start for a dreadful San Francisco 49ers team. A man who will bring in all kinds of unwanted media attention for the team, to challenge franchise quarterback and former MVP Newton, who led them to Super Bowl in 2015 and currently has his team at 10-4, tied atop the NFC South Division, just to make a statement on social justice.

Perhaps Combs has a shared dislike of the police. He was arrested in April of 1999 for assault, December of 1999 on weapons-related charges, and again in 2001 for driving with a suspended license.

“I will have the best halftime show, the best selection of music,” Combs said. “And we will win Super Bowl after Super Bowl.”
