Did Joe Biden Just Offer Beto O’Rourke a ‘Lead’ Role in Gun Control?

Speaking at a rally in Dallas, Texas, Joe Biden offered failed presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke, a man who has vowed to forcibly confiscate firearms from law-abiding citizens, a ‘lead’ role in his efforts to reform gun control laws in America.

Biden, a frontrunner along with Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination for the White House, made the offer at the end of his rally, shortly after O’Rourke gave his endorsement.

Suggesting President Trump was an “existential threat” to “free and fair elections,” O’Rourke announced that on Super Tuesday he would “be casting my ballot for Joe Biden.”

Biden, in turn, grabbed the mic and announced, “this is not the last you’re seeing of this guy,” referring to the Texas Democrat.

“You’re gonna take care of the gun problem with me, you’re gonna be the one who leads this effort,” Biden vowed. “I’m counting on you, I’m counting on you, we need you badly.”

Big Time Misfire

Accepting an endorsement to help rally your campaign from an anti-gun zealot is one thing. Getting overly excited and then offering that same anti-Second Amendment nut a role in violating the Constitutional rights of law-abiding Americans is quite different.

Beto’s campaign was a floundering mess to start, but it really fell apart when he became a one-trick gun-hating pony. Voters rejected his efforts outright and he was forced to bow out early.

Not exactly the kind of guy you want to be associated with your campaign. And yet …

“Joe Biden promises Beto O’Rourke, who pushed for gun confiscation for legal gun owners, will ‘be the one who leads’ his gun control effort,” notes GOP Rapid Response Director Steve Guest.

“2020 Democrats are unambiguous about their anti-Second Amendment agenda.”

Biden Coming For Your Guns?

Sure, a politician running for office will offer just about anything to those they think can help their campaign through an endorsement. As such, it remains to be seen whether or not Biden will actually put Beto in charge of gun control efforts.

But do you really want to take that chance, America?

During a Democrat debate in September, O’Rourke announced that “hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47,” through his signature wild arm gestures.

He would later threaten gun owners with forcible confiscation.

“If someone does not turn an AR-15 or an AK-47, one of these weapons of war, or brings it out in public and brandishes it, in an attempt to intimidate … then that weapon will be taken from them,” Beto threatened. “If they persist, there will be other consequences from law enforcement.”

Biden, for his part, has expressed a willingness to fabricate information as a means to implement his gun control policies.

At the last Democrat debate, he made the wildly inaccurate claim that 150 million Americans have died due to gun violence since 2007, nearly half of the entire population of the United States.

Despite being hailed a ‘moderate,’ Biden used that false information and, in his best Beto-esque effort, warned gun manufacturers that “I’m coming for you and gun manufacturers I’m going to take you on and I’m going to beat you.”

At a previous town hall event Biden called for banning semi-automatic firearms and “clips that have multiple bullets in them” which would effectively eliminate all guns.

Don’t let them fool you. Every one of the remaining Democrat candidates for President is just as extreme as Beto when it comes to gun control in this nation.
