Steve Adler, the Democrat mayor of Austin, Texas, told residents they should “stay home” in the midst of a surge in the coronavirus pandemic via a video he filmed while on vacation in Mexico.
“Stay home if you can … We need to keep the numbers down,” Adler said in a clip uploaded to Facebook.
“This is not the time to relax.”
It turns out Adler himself was relaxing, since he made the video, according to the Daily Mail, “speaking from his timeshare in Cabo San Lucas.”
Fox News reports that the Democrat was at a timeshare “after flying on a private jet with eight guests, including immediate and extended family.”
Even better, Adler traveled to Cabo one day after having “hosted a wedding with 20 guests for his daughter at a boutique hotel in Austin.”

Austin Mayor Steve Adler is a Hypocrite
Austin Mayor Steve Adler apologized for his actions on Wednesday but maintained he did not violate any of his own orders.
“I regret this travel. I wouldn’t travel now, didn’t over Thanksgiving and won’t over Christmas,” the statement reads. “But my fear is that this travel, even having happened during a safer period, could be used by some as justification for risky behavior.”
“In hindsight, and even though it violated no order, it set a bad example for which I apologize,” the statement added.
Residents were not impressed by Adler’s actions.
No, Steve Adler is just a bad mayor. He’s personally kept bars and restaurants closed all year, while charging them property taxes. He’s put hundreds of thousands of austinites on unemployment. He should be put in jail for not following his own rules.

And while he maintains he did not violate any order, Adler’s video, according to the Daily Mail, was made when “Austin was under Stage 3 COVID guidelines, meaning residents were urged to avoid gatherings greater than 10 and non-essential travel if they were high-risk.”
Adler is 64 years old and attended a wedding of 20 people.
One critic responded to the Facebook video: “How’s Cabo?! Must be nice to not ‘stay home’ … but when you are part of the political elite, well … we all know how that goes.”
The Mexico trip with family came the day after Adler hosted a small wedding for his daughter at a trendy South Congress Hotel with 20 attendees. Adler says he consulted with health authorities prior and that guests had to undergo COVID-19 testing and practice social distancing.

He’s Not the Only Democrat Hypocrite
This isn’t the first time Adler has been accused of being a hypocrite.
During the race riots in June, the Austin City Council voted to direct the city manager to propose reductions in the city’s police department budget next year.
And while Adler did not admit this was a move to defund the police, he did say it was an effort in “re-imagining policing.”
One concerned citizen tweeted to Mayor Adler, “Does this mean you’ll be giving up your APD security detail? Kinda hypocritical if you don’t.”

Adler certainly doesn’t have a stranglehold on the hypocrisy department.
We all saw Nancy Pelosi’s famous hair salon visit while small businesses in San Francisco were struggling to stay afloat due to pandemic lockdowns.
Next up, Nancy Pelosi who absolutely had to have her hair done but when she got caught without her mask on took no responsibility for her actions and accused the hair salon of setting her up! pic.twitter.com/kmMKYnrLxI

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot told city residents to “cancel” Thanksgiving but celebrated maskless in the streets after the election.
87-year-old senator Diane Feinstein was recently caught wandering the halls of the Capitol without a mask.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo restricted the number of people that can attend a gathering in a private residence and imposed a curfew on bars and restaurants.
This, despite the fact that he and his own brother, CNN host Chris Cuomo, have been caught maskless and flaunting lockdown protocols.

California Governor Gavin Newsom issued a handful of absurd edicts upon his state’s residents.
They include restrictions on gatherings to just three households, suggestions that all get-togethers be held outdoors, while limiting them to two hours, and warning that singing and shouting is “strongly discouraged.”
He appears to have violated every one of those orders when he was caught dining at a restaurant known as The French Laundry.
Newsom’s party, according to reports, included 22 people, was held indoors, and was “so loud, other patrons complained.”

No, Adler certainly isn’t the only Democrat hypocrite.
But he definitely upped the ante by having the balls to tell people they should “stay home” while on vacation in Mexico.
