A big-time liberal who is in charge of a big-time liberal newspaper just ripped members of his political party when he said the left wing of American politics doesn’t want to hear “thoughtful disagreement” when having an intellectual discussion.
His name is Dean Baquet and he is the executive editor of the New York Times. He was speaking at the Code Conference in California on Tuesday when he crafted these words and he’s right on the money.
Our nation would grow if both sides were able to listen to each other instead of fight, argue, and bicker over small things. We mostly all believe in the same thing. There are little hang-ups but that’s what makes each of us unique.

Baquet was defending the New York Times decision to hire conservative journalist Bret Stephens, who is a climate change skeptic.
“I don’t understand how one can actually have an intellectual discourse in this country if you cannot have the opportunity to read thoughtful people with whom you disagree,” Baquet said.
Baquet continued, “we’re at a moment in the country right now, which I think, you know, the left should do some soul searching, too.”
“The left, as a rule, does not want to hear thoughtful disagreement,” Baquet concluded.

Dean might be able to out-word me to craft his description in a way that makes him seem intelligent but what he just said is Democrats are ignorant and petulant children. They would rather drive the car off the cliff instead of talking to someone who has better directions.
I think all of the major news organizations should hire equal numbers of reporters from both political ideologies. Someone told me a long time ago, the only way to make an informed decision is to listen to both sides of the conversation and allow your common sense to drive you to the right choice.
Liberals will always be in the dark on realism until they open they eyes and find a bright light of information, do you agree?
