DCCC Chairwoman Mocks Ocasio-Cortez For Failed Boycott

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) Chair Rep. Cheri Bustos took a swipe at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for trying – and failing – to stop donations to the organization if they “blacklist” extreme primary challengers.

The DCCC voted to “freeze out” Justice Democrats, the group behind Ocasio-Cortez’ stunning election victory, and the organization facing several FEC complaints about how it mixed its money with her campaign.

Just over a week ago, the radical socialist urged a “pause” in donations to the DCCC in response to the freeze out, claiming the move was “extremely divisive and harmful to the party.”

“My recommendation, if you’re a small-dollar donor: pause your donations to DCCC & give directly to swing candidates instead,” she told her followers.

Bustos, appearing on CNN’s ‘New Day,’ offered an update to Ocasio-Cortez’ donation boycott.

When asked about the standoff, Bustos reported sarcastically that the New York Rep.’s strategy “worked so well that we had record fundraising numbers in the first quarter.”

Bustos continued by explaining that it is her job to “hold on to this fragile majority,” adding “that includes the progressive members of our caucus.”

Pelosi Mocks the Twitter Queen

Bustos mockery comes just days after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi took a shot at Ocasio-Cortez for being important on Twitter, but less important when it comes to governing.

“While there are people who have a large number of Twitter followers, what’s important is that we have large numbers of votes on the floor of the House,” Pelosi said in an interview with USA Today.

It seems coincidental that President Trump recently mocked Democrats for being ‘petrified’ of the ’29-year-old, young bartender,’ and now two prominent leaders in the party are taking swipes at her.

Not the Boss

Pelosi and Bustos’ comments are proving that the freshman Democrat is not, as she claims, “the boss.”

Aside from her DCCC boycott, Ocasio-Cortez warned moderate party members that if they don’t start voting with the extremists of the party she’d be making a list for them to be defeated in 2020.

Considering the DCCC’s fundraising update, it looks like her efforts to boycott and start lists are just more incompetent flailing on Ocasio-Cortez’ part.
