Country music sensation Toby Keith – known for such patriotic songs as “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue” that feature tough lyrics like “we’ll put a boot in your ass, it’s the American way” – has announced that he’s performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration later this week.

As such, it proves Keith has a spine to stand up against the predictable liberal backlash that he’s now being inundated with.

But he has no intentions of backing down … Check out the message he sent to liberals criticizing him for performing at the inauguration:

“I don’t apologize for performing for our country or military,” Keith said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. “I performed at events for previous presidents [George W.] Bush and [Barack] Obama and over 200 shows in Iraq and Afghanistan for the USO.”

Amen, brother. Nor should anyone ever have to apologize for performing for our country and our military.

Country artist Toby Keith is not backing down from performing at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Friday.

Several performers, most recently including Jennifer Holliday, have backed out over that past number of weeks.

Keith, 55, said he does not apologize for “performing for our country and our military.”

He performed for both Presidents Obama and George W. Bush in addition to hundreds of shows for troops in Afghanistan and the United Service Organization, he said.

At a performance last summer, Keith brought retired Lt. Col. Harry Frizzell of Oklahoma, a 93-year-old veteran who served in the armed forces for nearly 35 years, on stage to help him sing a couple of hits during an encore.

Keith explained that he wanted his audience to see what “a true American hero looks like.”

Keith became emotional when the veteran took the mic at the end and said he’d like to just say three words – “God bless America!”
