Fox News isn’t an easy place to work these days, especially with how unhinged Democrats have become. And while it’s nice to have the President of the United States as your biggest fan, it can be a double-edged sword. The network has to toe a very careful line in regards to not upsetting the President. (RELATED: President Trump Considers Judge Jeanine Pirro’s Fox News Show a Must-Watch.)
This hasn’t always been a comfortable thing to some Fox contributors. Retired Army Lt. Col. Ralph Peters, a tough-talking foreign policy guru, quit the network last year, citing President Trump’s closeness with Russia as the pretext for his leaving. (RELATED: Fox News Personality Quits – Slams Network and Trump Administration On His Way Out the Door.) On his way out, he referred to the network as a “propaganda machine.”
Peevishness with Fox’s close vicinity to Trump may not be why one network correspondent up and quit suddenly. But it might explain it. Biz Pac Review is reporting that Fox’s foreign correspondent Conor Powell left the network for undisclosed reasons. He left the following cryptic message on Facebook:
Powell’s last personal tweet came over the weekend when he implied that President Trump has essentially handed foreign policy over to Israel:
Or another way to say this is -the Trump Adminsitstion just farmed out US foreign policy #Netanyahu’s office #Kushner #Israel https://t.co/iPLbL28fnR
— Conor Powell (@ConormPowell) August 4, 2018
We don’t know why Powell left the network or what his future plans are. He wasn’t well known on Fox, but that may work to his advantage if he tries to get a job with CNN or MSNBC, Fox’s lagging competitors.

If this was a move to protest Fox’s closeness with Trump, we have yet to see any evidence of it. That rumor is, however, being reported on more liberal sites:
Fox News foreign correspondent Conor Powell abruptly resigned amid reports that Fox staff members are tired of seeing the network transformed into a pro-Trump propaganda channel.
Powell stepped down this week after 9 years reporting for the network…. https://t.co/38VOd7EHL6— Brody Levesque (@BrodyLevesque) August 7, 2018
We will have to see if Powell actually admits Trump was behind his decision to leave Fox.
