CNN Host Compares Trump’s CPAC Speech to Hitler, But it Sounded More Like This Democrat

CNN analyst Sam Vinograd was so triggered by President Trump’s CPAC speech over the weekend that certain elements made her think of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

While Nazi references to this president and his supporters in the mainstream media are more the norm than the exception these days, Vinograd’s analysis stood out because she was equating basic pro-American sentiments to Germany in the 1940s.

It is flat-out insane.

CNN played a clip from the speech, longest of Trump’s presidency, which specifically mentioned preserving the heritage and “protecting America’s interest,” concepts Vinograd clearly dissents from.

Here is the offending excerpt:

“The men and women here today are on the front lines of protecting America’s interests, defending America’s values, and reclaiming our nation’s priceless heritage. With your help, we are reversing decades of blunders and betrayals. These are serious, serious betrayals to our nation and to everything we stand for. It’s been done by the failed ruling class that enriched foreign countries at our expense. It wasn’t America first; in many cases it was America last. Those days are over, long over.”

Orange Man Bad

Seems to be pretty standard rah-rah, patriotic stuff here.

But, where you and I may have seen a President speaking of his love for America, Vinograd saw Hitler murdering millions of Jews.

No seriously, that’s her takeaway.

“Preserving your heritage, reclaiming our heritage — that sounds a lot like a certain leader that killed members of my family and about 6 million other Jews in the 1940s,” Vinograd claimed.

She went on to post a clip of her analysis alleging that Trump’s words make her “both sick and worried.”

Other garbage analysis from Vinograd which passed for as intellectual enlightenment on CNN included opining that President Trump “spread misinformation and conspiracy theories, he undermined the credibility of several of our institutions, he sewed divisions, he sewed confusion.”

“He was speaking to his base, but he was also saying things that really looked like Vladimir Putin scripted his speech,” she claimed.

Guess Who Said It First?

Is Vinograd right? Is Trump echoing the sentiments of Hitler or Putin?

Of course not. He’s making pro-American comments that should be celebrated, not frowned upon by today’s leftwing media.

Even beyond that, the one leader the President is actually echoing in his speech is … former vice president, and likely 2020 presidential candidate, Joe Biden.

Matt Wolking, a GOP congressional communications director, noted the comparison between Biden and Trump’s statements.

“It’s time to stand up,” Biden yelled at the Florida Democratic Party state convention in 2011. “It’s time to fight back. It’s time to reclaim our heritage, and it’s time and we are ready. … We are looking for this fight! The future of our country depends on it.”

“It’s long past time we get back up, that we stand up, that we reclaim what every American thought was their birthright: the American Dream,” he also said during that speech.

How many CNN analysts clutched their pearls and grew “sick and worried” over Biden’s comments, comparing him to Hitler or Putin? We’re guessing zero.
