Christine Blasey Ford Indicates She Doesn’t Want to Fly to Testify

Color me unsurprised.

Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexual harassment in high school, is, once again, getting cold feet. She is indicating she might not testify, after all, going back once again on the promise she made to do so.

At the beginning of this whole affair, Ford’s attorney said she would be willing to testify if Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee wished. (RELATED: Kavanaugh Accuser Christine Ford Agrees to Republican Wishes – Will Testify Before Senate Judiciary Committee.)

Ford then took it back, indicating she wouldn’t testify without an FBI investigation into the matter first. The FBI already said it would not look into a sexual assault charge from 30 years ago, but it did not matter. Ford parroted the Democrat demand anyway. Then Ford made it clear she would be willing to testify under certain conditions. These demands would largely be met with the exception of a few, including that she would make her statement following Kavanaugh’s. The whole time this was occurring, Senate Democrats refused to cooperate with Republicans on sorting the whole mess out. They’ve obstructed the entire process, especially Senator Dianne Feinstein, who originally received Ford’s accusations in the form of a letter that she has yet to share with her colleagues on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Now, it looks like Ford is once again backing out of testifying. And this time, her excuse is pathetic. Burgess Everett of Politico reports:

The GOP has been told that Ford does not want to fly from her California home to Washington, according to the Republican senator, which means she may need to drive across the country to make the hearing. Ford has reportedly told friends she is uncomfortable in confined spaces, indicating a physical difficulty in making the trip by plane.

This is a b.s. excuse, as Republican staffers have offered to meet with Ford in her home state of California:

It’s time to end this. Ford clearly isn’t serious about her allegations. If she were, she’d have provided an avenue for the Senate Judiciary Committee to hear her claims.

This entire thing is a farce. End it now. Confirm Kavanaugh.
