Fraud.
The more this goes on, the more of a fraud it becomes.
Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her in high school, has gone back and forth on her willingness to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
At first, her attorney said she was willing to take the stand and reveal her story on President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee. (RELATED: Kavanaugh Accuser Christine Ford Agrees to Republican Wishes – Will Testify Before Senate Judiciary Committee.)
Then Ford took it back. She refused to testify before the FBI investigated the matter, despite the federal agency not having jurisdiction over the matter. (RELATED: Kavanaugh Accuser Ignores Calls to Testify – After Volunteering to Testify.)
Now, she is once again willing to testify but only with some preconditions met. A few of these demands are reasonable: her safety is assured and Kavanaugh isn’t in the same room as her when it occurs.
But some demands are beyond the pale. One of her requests is that Kavanaugh testifies before her, therefore not giving him a chance to address her claims. (RELATED: Christine Blasey Ford’s Demands Show She Isn’t Serious About Kavanaugh’s Assault.)
That’s nonsense on its face. Additionally, she wants to witness Mark Judge testify, despite his denying the incident actually occurred.
The Senate Judiciary Committee just weighed in on these matters and it’s not good for Ford:
NEW: Senate Judiciary Committee staff continue to negotiate with Christine Blasey Ford’s attorneys, but say two of her requests — to have Kavanaugh testify first and for the committee to subpoena other witnesses like Mark Judge — are “non-starters.”

A senior Senate Republican source tells NPR that asking Kavanaugh to go first is “not doable,”noting Kavanaugh would need to respond to any new accusation that comes up at the hearing.

The source tells NPR that it is not standard procedure for another witness to dictate who else should testify and “that’s not precedent we are going to follow.”

Ford’s lawyers should have known that these demands would never fly. Her lawyers look like idiots for trying to get them approved.
What happens going forward will be interesting. Will Ford still testify?
If she doesn’t, it will show she was never serious about this matter from the beginning. Kavanaugh should then be confirmed.
