After Meeting With Trump, Boeing CEO Announces Great Progress With Costs

While Barack Obama is set to close out his presidency with over $100 million in vacation expenses, Donald Trump has already proven that he’s not going to be so careless with the taxpayer’s money.

It’s even scarier that the $100 million wasted is (fractions of) pennies on the dollar when it comes to the TRILLIONS in wasteful spending under Obama’s administration, racking up a national debt of just under $20 trillion overall.

Meanwhile, Trump won’t even be taking a salary as President. And as he’s said in his past as a businessman, vacations are a waste of time.

Even the amenities he’s receiving free of charge as President are open to negotiation. When the cost of Air Force One was quoted at $4 billion by Boeing, Trump complained that it was too much, and threatened to cancel the contract.

Now, the CEO of Boeing has met with Trump, and government spending will be cut!

Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg said Tuesday he and Donald Trump are “on the same page” about simplifying the requirements for the next generation Air Force One in an effort to bring down the price tag.

“We made some great progress on simplifying requirements for Air Force One, streamlining the process, streamlining certification by using commercial practices,” Muilenburg told reporters after their second meeting at Trump Tower in New York. “All of that is going to provide a better airplane at a lower cost, so I’m pleased with the progress there.”

Leaving their meeting on Tuesday, Muilenburg said he and the president-elect also talked about fighter aircraft and “options for the country and capabilities that will, again, provide the best capability for our war fighters most affordably.”

Muilenburg also praised Trump for “doing a great job with engaging business.”

Who the heck knew that you could negotiate down the price of government? I suppose Trump was just the first to try!
