Editor’s Note: This article was updated to provide the full context of Biden’s comments. A new video of the comments has also been added.
Joe Biden is being accused of suffering yet another racist gaffe, one where he insinuates that “black women” would be the ones stacking grocery shelves during the pandemic.
Biden Is Accused Of Making Bigoted Comments Again
The clip was tweeted out by Rob Smith, a veteran of the Iraq War, and senior contributor to Turning Point USA.
The video footage, which seems to be from at least one week ago, depicts Biden at a press conference.
“The reason I was able to stay sequestered in my home is because some black woman was able to stack the grocery shelf,” Biden says to the camera, without a hint of irony.
“My GOD,” Smith tweeted, shocked by Biden’s comments.

Here is video of the Biden’s comments:
Fox News reports the context in which Biden made the comments.
Biden was talking about how optimistic he was about a positive change in racial attitudes as a result of the pandemic:
“And they say, ‘Well, why in the hell would you say that Biden? You just talked about all these difficulties.’ Well, I’ll tell you why. Because the American public, the blinders have been taken off,” Biden told the roundtable attendees.
“They’ve all of a sudden seen a hell of a lot clearer. They’re saying, ‘Jeeze, the reason I was able to stay sequestered in my home is because some Black woman was able to stack the grocery shelf. Or a young Hispanic is out there, these dreamers are out there, 60,000 of them acting as first responders and nurses and docs.’ Or all of a sudden people are realizing, ‘My Lord, these people have done so much. Not just Black, White, across the board, have done so much for me. We can do this. We can get things done.’ And I think they’re ready.”
Vice President Biden has a history of making racist gaffes and remarks. In August of this year, speaking to a panel of the National Association of Black Journalists, Biden claimed there is no diversity of thought within the black community.
“What you all know, but most people don’t know, unlike the African-American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community, with incredibly different attitudes about different things,” Biden said.

And in May, during an interview with Charlamagne tha God, Biden insinuated no black people would ever vote for President Trump over him.
“If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black,” Biden told Charlamagne.
Media Covering Up His Mess
However, mainstream media outlets have generally chosen to ignore, rather than draw attention to, any of the gaffes from the former Vice President.
Fox News noted that his comments, especially regarding the comparison of black and Hispanic communities, were not seen anywhere on MSNBC programming for three nights in a row when the story broke back in August.
CNN also mentioned Biden’s comparison comments, but refused to play the clip. CNN anchor John King then defended Biden’s comments against criticism from President Trump.
“Is it very insulting?” King asked. “Did Joe Biden disparage and insult the Black community?”
“When Republicans make a mistake, they get pilloried by the national press. But when Democrats blunder and fumble, they can usually count on a friendly news media to help them clean up the mess. Which is good news for Joe Biden,” Media Research Centre editor Bill D’Agostino wrote.
