Top Civil Rights Attorney: Trump Has Done More In Three Years For The Black Community Than Obama Did In Eight

Leo Terrell, the renowned civil rights attorney, has said that President Donald Trump has done more in three years for the black community than Obama did in eight.

Terrell: Democrats Only Care About Power

Terrell, a self-described life-long Democrat, made the striking remarks on Monday at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority Conference in Atlanta. Other attendees at the conference, which is usually held in DC, included the Vice President and federal lawmakers.

He argued that the Democrats now simply care about obtaining power, and nothing else.

Terrell, who has been a civil rights attorney for 30 years, said that “what makes this country great is that this country gives you an opportunity, equality and an opportunity to be who you want to be,” adding that he puts “the country first.”

“I want to apologize because it took me a little bit too long to get to the right side,” Terrell continued.

Trump Has Done Amazing Things For The Black Community

Terrell claimed it was simply a “lie” when Democrats challenged “the fairness, the programs, the policies of Donald J Trump” that have done so much to help the black community.

He rattled off a number of the President’s achievements, including the lowest unemployment rate for black Americans ever and the signing of the First Step Act.

“Joe Biden and Kamala Harris put people of color in jail,” he said, but “Donald Trump is giving people a second opportunity.”

President Trump recently announced the creation of the “Platinum Plan,” which would expand on his previous work with the black community. The proposals include the designation of both the KKK and antifa as terrorist organisations, and efforts to push black economic prosperity.

He also discussed the creation of “peaceful” urban neighbourhoods with high standards of policing, in opposition to the leftist plans to defund the police. School choice would also be expanded, and there would also be a push for greater black home ownership.

Terrell argued that it was the Republican Party who provide “equality, fairness, [and] personal liberty.” Those who drink the Democrat “Kool-Aid,” he said, buy into the assumption that only the Democrats can help the black community.

“President Trump has done more for African-Americans in the three-and-a-half years than the Obama-Biden administration in eight years,” Terrell said. “It is a fact. It has nothing to do with color.”

“Democrats Don’t Want You To Think. They Want You To Get Angry”

The civil rights attorney said that systemic discrimination no longer exists in the United States.

“How can you have systemic discrimination in cities run by people of color? That is when the whole system is racist. Chicago? Atlanta? They are run by Democrats,” he noted.

He argued that this idea is simply being played up by Democrats who want to “play the race game” and pander to people based on race.

“They don’t want you to think. They want you to get angry,” he exclaimed. “I won’t play that game anymore. This country is too important. This country is at a crossroads.”

Following his speech, Terrell tweeted that he would love to join the President’s campaign trail as a surrogate.

“Please put me on the campaign trail on your behalf immediately,” he said. “There are millions of Trump’s supporters waiting for marching orders. I am one of them!”
