The Biden administration’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a new terrorism threat summary report focusing on people or organizations spreading “misinformation” designed to undermine trust in the government.
The “Summary of Terrorism Threat to the U.S. Homeland” bulletin, published on Monday, indicates the United States is in a “heightened threat environment,” in particular against ‘false narratives’ about election fraud and COVID.
They’ve also created a new acronym we’re sure to see plastered all over the mainstream media in the near future.
“The United States remains in a heightened threat environment fueled by several factors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories, and other forms of mis- dis- and mal-information (MDM) introduced and/or amplified by foreign and domestic threat actors,” the document reads.
First on the detailed list of those ‘misleading narratives’ is a focus on the “widespread online proliferation of false or misleading narratives regarding unsubstantiated widespread election fraud and COVID-19.”
“Grievances associated with these themes inspired violent extremist attacks during 2021,” they write.
So, a few of us are wondering, @DHSgov …

DHS is Fighting Misinformation Terrorists
What’s better than Homeland Security creating a misinformation acronym – MDM? How’s about who they’ve enlisted in helping them monitor that mis- dis- and mal-information?
“DHS is working with public and private sector partners, as well as foreign counterparts, to identify and evaluate MDM,” the bulletin states.
Which foreign counterparts are helping to crack down on election information?
Anyone who distrusts the government is now a terrorist.

With the backdrop of targeting ‘misinformation’ – which at one point would have included stories debunking the Steele dossier, nearly every current story on COVID, and news on Hunter Biden’s laptop – DHS is encouraging people to rat out anyone they see engaging in such activity.
“Report suspicious activity,” the bulletin instructs.
The Associated Press writes, “The concern about the midterms comes as many Americans already are skeptical about the results of the November 2020 election because of the repeated unfounded claims of fraud leveled by former President Donald Trump and his allies.”
Further, they ominously hint that elections could be possible targets:
“The alert warns that the months leading up to the midterms could see extremists using online forums and other methods to call for violence at democratic institutions, candidates, party offices, election and poll workers.”
A lot to unpack. From the government’s blatant hypocrisy for their ongoing proliferation of false narratives which created government distrust to @DHSgov saying the quiet part out loud.
They see the First Amendment as a threat to the government…

Illegitimate Elections
The threat summary report is clearly targeting former President Trump and his supporters by highlighting “misleading narratives about unsubstantiated election fraud.”
But they may have unwittingly roped in Democrats.
“The months preceding the upcoming 2022 midterm elections could provide additional opportunities for these extremists,” they write.
The biggest reason there is distrust in the US Government or it’s institutions are the US Government and it’s institutions.

The Political Insider reported in late January that several Senate Democrats are contemplating pushing a narrative that the 2022 midterm elections are illegitimate due to Republican opposition to passing their national voting bill.
“Democrats believe there’s plenty of evidence that Republicans are trying to steal future elections and feel bolstered by extensive reporting by CNN, NBC and other media outlets on the state-level machinations of Trump allies,” according to The Hill.
Sounds like a conspiracy theory to me. Is the Department of Homeland Security monitoring these possible MDM terrorists?
President Biden himself has theorized that midterm election results could be “illegitimate.”
This second attempt from Biden on whether the election will be legit is even worse.
“Oh, yeah, I think it could easily be illegitimate … The increase in the prospect of being illegitimate is in proportion to not being able to get these reforms passed.” pic.twitter.com/nCyuAWSMXm

Hey, DHS. I see something. And now I’m saying something.
The DHS misinformation terror threat should come as no surprise. The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced the formation of a unit to combat domestic terrorism just days after the anniversary of the 2021 riot at the Capitol.
And once again, the emphasis was on cracking down on anti-government rhetoric.
“Domestic violent extremists are often motivated by a mix of ideologies and personal grievances,” Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen told the Senate Judiciary Committee.
“We have seen a growing threat from those who are motivated by racial animus, as well as those who ascribe to extremist anti-government and anti-authority ideologies.”

The Biden domestic terrorism plan also seeks – perhaps chillingly – to control “misinformation” being shared on the internet and social media.
“The U.S. Government will also work to find ways to counter the polarization often fueled by disinformation, misinformation, and dangerous conspiracy theories online, supporting an information environment that fosters healthy democratic discourse,” a White House fact-sheet reads.
What better way to crack down on political speech by your opponents than to label them as purveyors of “misinformation” and then sic the full force of the DHS on them in an effort to combat terrorism?
