Former Housing & Urban Development Secretary Dr. Ben Carson spoke out on Tuesday to rip into Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) for what he described as the “disgusting” comparison that she made between Georgia’s new election law and South African Apartheid of the mid-20th Century.
Omar Bashes Georgia Voting Law
This came after Omar voiced her support for calls to boycott Georgia, saying that in the case of Apartheid, which ran from roughly 1948 to 1991, the segregationist and institutionally racist policies against the black population of South Africa came to an end because of boycotts.
“Our hope is that this boycott will result in changes in the law because we understand that when you restrict people’s ability to vote, you create a democracy that isn’t fully functioning for all of us,” Omar alleged of the new Georgia election law that prohibits electioneering in the vicinity of a poll, expands weekend early voting and strengthens ID requirements for absentee balloting.
Carson Fires Back
Carson fired back by saying that it was both offensive and dangerous for Omar to compare the Georgia election law to something as serious as Apartheid.
“It’s so disgusting that people would try to take something as horrible as Apartheid and try to equate it to this and not to explain it,” he told Fox News. “This is the worst part. They make these accusations, they all get on the bandwagon and they will not sit down and explain it.”
Carson went on to say that Omar’s claims are indicative of a bigger problem in this country right now in which people are invoking racism left and right without backing up their claims with any facts.
“We’re not each other’s enemies. Trying to create Black victimhood and White guilt does not lead us to a good place,” he said.

Carson Doubles Down
Not stopping there, Carson also went after President Joe Biden for describing the Georgia law as “Jim Crow on steroids.”
“It’s very sad that some of our leaders, particularly the leader of the free world would be involved in disseminating information that is untrue. I wonder if these people understand history,” he said.
“Do they know what Jim Crow laws actually were?” Carson concluded. “They were a mechanism to diminish the rights that many Blacks had gained during Reconstruction and they enforced segregation. The things that people went through in those days were horrendous.”

Why does the media make it possible for these politicians to lie about what is and isn't in the laws passed by various states and the congress itself. Everything I have read says that the law enacted in Georgia is just common sense to ensure that voters are not allowed to vote more than once. The infrastructure passed by the house has 90% PORK and 10% infrastructure. Yet the media allows the democrats to spread vicious information that is so biased that it changes the very nature of the laws they are discussing. We really need to go back to draining the swamp and getting rid of these politicians that have been feathering their nest for 20, 30, 40, and 50 years (both Republicans and Democrats)

I will not stay silent when I spot xenophobia. I will not stay silent when I spot religious intolerance. I will not stay silent when I spot any injustice.” She’ll be sworn in on April 20.

Trump Property Doormen Fired for Ignoring Anti-Asian Attack in NYC
Two Trump property doormen have been fired following their response to a suspected hate crime against an elderly Asian American woman last week, the Brodsky organization said Tuesday. Surveillance footage that went viral showed a man kicking a 65-year-old woman down on the sidewalk, and the two doormen closing the lobby doors and doing nothing to intervene. “We are extremely distraught and shocked by this incident, and our hearts go out to the victim,” the statement said. “It is clear that required emergency and safety protocols were not followed. For this reason, their employment has been terminated, effective immediately.” The company said it would retrain employees in emergency protocols and bystander intervention.

Omar says it is Apartheid, Biden says it's Jim Crow laws, and democrats believe both of them. These people are an insult to history and all those who lived through slavery. They cheapen the sacrifice of those that lived in those trying times. This is as bad as when AOC and others compared Trump and his administration as Nazis. That was an insult against Jews who lost over 6 million of their people and is a insult to all those that fought and died during WWII. This has nothing to do with the Georgia law itself. The Democrats and their corporate supporters are opposed to changing the emergency voting laws that the court and state officials enacted during the pandemic, negating the laws the legislature had in place previously.
The Supreme Court refused to hear the Texas suit which was exactly about this.
This will likely go to the Supreme Court again, and the Supreme Court will have another opportunity to uphold the Constitution as written, but I don't think the Supreme Court is attentive to the Constitution now, but rather looks at what the media and the Democrats are advocating and then taking that course so they won't be criticized in the media.
