The Bushes are one of America’s most famous political families, and have been in public life for decades. While politics has been a focal point for the Bush men, the women in the family have not shown interest in running for office.
One of George W. Bush’s daughters, Jenna, has chosen a career in television, and is currently a correspondent for NBC News. Jenna Bush Hager is also the editor-at-large for the popular magazine “Southern Living.”
During a recent appearance on NBC’s Today, Jenna let slip a family secret that stunned America. Jenna revealed that her grandmother, Barbara Bush has only four toes on each foot!

It was then that she dropped this bombshell: “My grandma is missing a toe on each foot.” Kathie Lee couldn’t believe it. Incredulous, she stared at her co-host and said, “Barbara?!” She wondered aloud whether Bush has ever divulged this information herself. “Not that I know of!” Jenna said. “But she has darling feet!”
She elaborated, “I think it’s the second [toes]. Ganny, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said it. But it happened with age!” Kathie Lee put on her journalist hat and continued to dig for more information. “They disappeared?” she asked. “They say if you don’t sleep that much your toes go away,” Jenna answered, laughing. “I feel terrible now. Should I be embarrassed?” she added.

While Jenna certainly is enjoying life on television, in a recent interview with NBC’s Dallas-Fort Worth affiliate, she revealed that while she lives in New York “I am a homesick Texan.” Hilariously, Jenna revealed that 12 years ago she could have never imagined having a job on television, noting that she “hid from people like [NBC News’] Savannah Guthrie.”
In the same interview, Jenna admitted she was embarrassed after her father, George W. Bush, brought up on live television the time his daughter was charged with using a fake ID to buy alcohol. Jenna remarked “Dad, I am a 35-year-old mother of two. You don’t have to bring up things from when I was 19!”
This secret is certainly not the worst thing that Jenna could have revealed. Clearly the younger Bush was not trying to humiliate her grandmother by revealing this hilarious, yet awkward story about her family.
