Anderson Cooper Unloads On Republicans For ‘Self-Licking Ice Cream Cone’ Of Election Conspiracies

Anderson Cooper

CNN host Anderson Cooper, who spent years pedaling unfounded Russia conspiracy theories related to the 2016 election, is now fuming that Republicans are daring to question the results of the 2020 race.

Cooper Blasts Republicans And Trump

In a segment on his show Wednesday night that was titled Self-Licking Ice Cream Cone,” Cooper let loose on President Donald Trump and on the congressional Republicans who have stood by him. He accused the GOP of being Trump’s “enablers” in assisting him in spreading conspiracies about the election.

“It’s become, in technical parlance, a self-licking ice cream cone,” Cooper explained. “It’s an old federal government term to describe a self-perpetuating system that exists only to perpetuate itself, which is what the whole election fraud conspiracy theory has become, a toxic and nearly deadly self-licking ice cream cone.”

“Despite a total lack of evidence, a total lack of evidence, the president and his enablers pushing the voter fraud myth, relentlessly, then citing the fact that people are talking about it as justification for pushing it,” he added. “And so goes around and around until angry mobs filled the streets protest a stolen election that was not stolen.”

Cooper Goes After Republicans For Questioning Biden’s Legitimacy

Cooper went on to lament that a large majority of Republican voters doubt Joe Biden’s legitimacy as president, ignoring the fact that Democrats spent the past four years claiming that Trump didn’t really win in 2016.

“Judges have tossed out case after case because of lack of evidence, lack of merit, lack of standing,” the CNN host said. “All the way up to the conservative-dominated Supreme Court. Attorney General Barr has said there was no systematic fraud. Georgia’s top officials, all Republicans have.”

“Millions of Americans have not gotten the message,” Cooper concluded, calling Trump the Conspiracist-in-Chief, “because one American, in particular, is feeding them a diet of disinformation and his enablers, like you just saw, are going along for the ride.”

Once again, we all remember that Cooper and his fellow members of the media spent years trying to delegitimize the 2016 election. It looks like they don’t like the taste of their own medicine.
