On Tuesday, U.S. Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett responded to attacks by the far-left against her and her husband for adopting two of their seven children from Haiti.
The most highly publicized attack came from Ibram Kendi, the director of the Center from Antiracist Research at Boston University.

Kendi, who has gained fame for his ‘anti-racist’ works in the wake of the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement, made the comments after it was announced that Barrett was President Donald Trump’s pick for the Supreme Court.
Republican Sen. John Kennedy blasted Kendi’s remarks on Tuesday during Barrett’s second day of hearings.
“I want to give you the chance to respond to something,” Sen. Kennedy said to Barrett.
“Some butthead professor at Boston University says because you and your husband have two children of color, that you’re a white colonist,” the senator said.
“The implication is that you’re a racist, and that you use your two children as props.”
“Do you use your children as props?” Kennedy asked.
“Senator Kennedy, it was the risk of people saying things like that — which would be so hurtful to my family — that when I told Senator [Lindsey] Graham (R-S.C.) this morning that my husband and I had to really weigh the costs of this, it was saying deeply offensive and hurtful things,” Barrett replied.
“Things that are not only hurtful to me, but are hurtful to my children — who are my children, who we love, and who we brought home and made a part of our family, and accusations like that are cruel,” Barrett added.
Kennedy replied, “Yeah, they are. How low can you go. I didn’t want to ask that question when your kids were here.”
“I’m sorry you have to go through that,” Sen. Kennedy added.
The notion that two conservative white parents adopting black children somehow makes them racist is so absurd that it is amazing anyone would possibly entertain the idea.
Haiti is a desperately poor country, famous for instability and corruption.
Those children, the son and daughter of a future Supreme Court Justice, now have opportunities few people in the world could ever even dream of.
They have loving parents, and never have to worry about food on the table.
But such is the state of the contemporary left.
Good for Sen. John Kennedy for calling out this insanity, and for Amy Coney Barrett and her family for not letting these hateful extremists get them down.
