African-American Support for Trump Surges to 35%

President Donald Trump’s approval rating is surging among African-Americans, and that could put Democrats in serious trouble. According to The Federalist’s Joseph Sheppard, any black support for Trump past 10% puts Democrats in the “danger zone” when it comes to a challenger’s electability, and Trump has blown past that in 2018.

Evidence of a so-called “Kanye Effect” began to show up in the polls in April after the rapper Kanye West declared his support for President Trump. A Reuters poll, conducted April 29th, put Trump’s approval among black men at 22 percent, while the poll taken the month prior put that figure at 11 percent.

According to the latest figures out of Rasmussen, Trump’s approval rating among voters is now 51 percent overall – with 35 percent support from blacks.

Eight percent of black voters voted for Trump in 2016 (as did 29% of Hispanics, which you’d never believe if you listened to the media’s pro-illegal immigrant hysteria). In none of the past four Presidential elections did a Republican garner over 10% of the black vote. For that reason, even a nominally small increase in the share of the black vote for a Republican candidate can tip the scales in their favor. While an increase in the black vote for a Republican candidate from 8% to 16% would “only” be an eight percentage point increase, it’s also a 100 percent increase in support.

So what’s Trump doing differently? Simply, his administration is working for black Americans.

  • It’s working-class blacks that lose the most from illegal immigration, both in terms of lost employment and increased competition driving their wages down. For that reason, it should come to no surprise that twice as many black voters support Trump’s policy on deportations than oppose it.
  • In January, the black unemployment rate fell to its lowest point in recorded history, and has continued to fall since.
  • Under Obama, the labor-force-participation rate for black Americans across the board dropped from 63.2 percent to 61.7 percent, the percentage of blacks below the poverty line grew from 25.8% to 26.2%, and average incomes declined from $35,954 to $35,398.
  • The number of black owned businesses has SURGED 400% under Trump, according to the small business financier Guidant Financial.

With all that, what’s not to like? It’s a shame the mainstream media doesn’t report on stories like this – but I think we’re all aware that’s by design.

  1. Obama’s Hope and Change didn’t work so well for all of America, Blacks included. If black Americans won’t vote for this President who has picked up everyone then they will never vote Republican. Let’s face it, Trump should get 50% of their vote.

  2. oh please stop making sense wouldja .. next you’ll be spewing propaganda like “we should judge a person by the content of their character and not the color of their skin” or some such trip /sarc

  3. If it`s 35% publically it`s probably more like 45% as the black community knows the backlash they could receive from the “Plantation blacks”. One group that is rising the fastest is black women. They know when they are being stroked by the Dems.

  4. Are all African-Americans black?
    Are all blacks African-Americans?
How about we just have equality, like it stated in 1964; so born after that I don’t want to hear any whinnying.

  5. Over the years the GOP has been the party of business and middle to upper class individuals. The Dems took the Black vote for granted. Black voters under Obama were happy and glad to help elect him. but he and the Dem. Party did little or nothing for those voters. Black Americans started to notice that a few Blacks were showing up in the GOP and were being listened to and respected. Dems putting Al Sharpton forward as a leader is an insult to any educated and/or aware minority voter. A con can be spotted pretty well by many living in Urban areas.

Black business owners and upwardly mobile people were starting to notice the GOP and its programs and policies. Trump suddenly makes direct appeals to minorities and his policies are helping them way more then food stamps and welfare programs.

Dems. have taken a turn to the hard left and their support of illegals has directly impacted these 250 year multi generational American citizens. New illegals are getting the lion’s share of Democrat attention and energy. Some Blacks started to question the decades old attacks on the GOP, as everything but Satan himself, by elite white men and woman who lived in a totally white world most of the time.

A collective light must have gone on and a shift away from the new radical Democrat Party is taking place.

  6. Good for President Trump & good for our country! All people/citizens of the USA should possess the ability to raise themselves up in our country. If more folks can find jobs & do good for their families, the better for our country. Keep the good news coming & God Bless our Leaders!

  7. When I started in construction during the mid 70’s union laborers were earning $8 an hour. Good money at the time. Today in the same area illegal workers are earning between $8 and $10 an hour. That’s not so good a wage. Most of the laborers in the 70’s were black and today you see few blacks on construction sites. Even legal hispanics are having to compete against illegals in the job market. If calif. is so behind raising the wages to something that’s livable the first thing they need to do is remove all illegals from their labor market.

  8. Another obvious truth is that blacks want the same things the rest of the USA want, which is a safe community, available jobs, prosperity and opportunity. TRUMP has been effective at offering that, no other POTUS has done more than give that issue lip service. The black people this family knows are just as smart as everyone else, and they can see what is happening. So, yes, they will vote for a better USA like many of the rst of us.
