Adam Schiff, Who Tried to Get Oppo Research From Ukraine on Trump, Suggests Impeachment

Rep. Adam Schiff, appearing on CNN’s ‘State of the Union,’ suggested President Trump’s alleged but unproven conversations with Ukraine may be grounds for impeachment.

New media reports have suggested Trump made an unspecified promise to Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky in exchange for an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.

“I have been very reluctant to go down the path of impeachment for the reason that I think the founders contemplated in a country that has election every four years this would be an extraordinary remedy, a remedy of last resort and not first resort,” Schiff told anchor Jake Tapper, seemingly forgetting he had pushed the Russia collusion hoax for nearly three years.

“But if the president is withholding military aid at the same time trying to browbeat a foreign leader into doing something illicit, that is providing dirt on his opponent during a presidential campaign, then that may be the only remedy that is only co-equal to the evil that that conduct represents,” he added.

Far be it for us to critique Tapper, who many in the media try to portray as a level-headed right-leaning journalist when he’s not, but we’re left wondering where the pushback was on this.

Schiff actually tried conspiring with who he thought were actual Ukrainian Parliamentary officials in trying to obtain compromising material on President Trump – including naked photos. It seems relevant to the conversation.

In February of 2018, it was revealed that Schiff engaged in an 8-minute phone call with comedians who posed as a Ukrainian member of Parliament (Andriy Parubiy) alleging that Vladimir Putin had naked blackmail pictures of Trump. He talked at length with them and arranged for a staffer to pick up the compromising material at the Ukrainian Embassy.

“I understand Mr. Schiff had a productive call with Mr. Parubiy, and that Mr. Parubiy would like to make some material available to Mr. Schiff through your embassy,” wrote one aide to the supposed Ukrainian official. “Please let me know how best to arrange pick-up of those materials from your Embassy in Washington, D.C.”

Tapper didn’t have a question on that locked and loaded for Schiff considering the topic? Are you serious?

While the media has never seriously looked into the fact that, while the actors involved were pranksters, Schiff very seriously was trying to secure “kompromat” to take down an elected President, they’ve ignored other links between Democrats and Ukraine.

Politico reported in January of 2017 that Trump “wasn’t the only presidential candidate whose campaign was boosted by officials of a former Soviet bloc country,” running a story on a collaborative effort between Ukrainian officials and the DNC.

The DNC worked with government officials in Ukraine who were working to bolster Clinton and undermine President Trump. The embassy in Washington very recently admitted that an operative in the DNC sought dirt in 2016 on Trump.

Didn’t know about that either, Mr. Tapper? Or maybe you did and it’s just not in CNN’s best interest to counter the Democrat narrative?

Perhaps another element Schiff could have been queried on is CNN’s own reporting, which says the whistleblower involved in this Ukraine ‘bombshell’ “didn’t have direct knowledge of the communications,” and it was based on hearsay.

Another anti-Trump narrative down the drain.

For his part, President Trump has said the Ukraine story is “just another partisan hack job,” and any conversations he had with world leaders at the White House were always appropriate.
