According To Twitter, Lincoln Project Cofounder John Weaver Didn’t Violate Rules Regarding Unwanted Sexual Advances

Major social media platform Twitter says that Lincoln Project cofounder John Weaver did not violate the company’s rules regarding unwanted sexual advances when he allegedly propositioned young men by direct messaging them.

Regarding unwanted sexual advances, Twitter’s rules state that the company prohibits “unwanted sexual discussion of someone’s body;” “solicitation of sexual act” and “any other content that otherwise sexualizes an individual without their consent.”

Twitter Says Weaver Did Not Violate Its Rules Regarding Unwanted Sexual Advancements

A spokesman for told Breitbart News that after looking in to this issue, company officials found no violations of its policies on the part of Weaver.

Weaver has been accused by over twenty young men. The Lincoln Project co-founder also still has an active Twitter account.

Some screenshots of the messages allegedly sent by Weaver have been published. The New York Times reported that once accuser was as young as 14-years-old.

Weaver’s “solicitations included sending messages to a 14-year-old, asking questions about his body while he was still in high school and then more pointed ones after he turned 18,” the Times reported.

Weaver Allegedly Offered Professional Favors For Sexual Ones

The Times noted that “(N)one of the men accused Mr. Weaver of unlawful conduct. Rather, many of them described feeling preyed upon by an influential older man in the field in which they wanted to work, and believing they had to engage with his repeated messaging or lose a professional opportunity.”

Weaver allegedly offered professional favors in exchange for sexual ones.

“Mr. Weaver sent overt sexual solicitations to at least 10 of the men and, in the most explicit messages, offered professional and personal assistance in exchange for sex,” the Times reported.

The Times continued, “He told one man he would ‘spoil you when we see each other,’ according to a message reviewed by The New York Times. ‘Help you other times. Give advice, counsel, help with bills. You help me … sensually.”

The Lincoln Project has since cut ties with Weaver.

New AP Report Shows Lincoln Project Officials Knew Of Accusations As Early As June Of 2020

While Lincoln Project officials first claimed they knew nothing about Weaver’s behavior online when this story emerged in January, on Thursday the Associated Press found that others within the anti-Trump organization were aware of the allegations against Weaver as early as June 2020.

The Associated Press reported Thursday, “In June 2020, members of the organization’s leadership were informed in writing and in subsequent phone calls of at least 10 specific allegations of harassment against co-founder John Weaver, including two involving Lincoln Project employees, according to multiple people with direct knowledge of the situation.”

“The email and phone calls raise questions about the Lincoln Project’s statement last month that it was ‘shocked’ when accusations surfaced publicly this year,” AP added.
