Christmas reveals the fact that we are all surrounded by remarkable people that we encounter and interact with every day. Each of us has that one special thing that makes us unique to each other’s purpose. For the most part, we do take it for granted, looking past these fine unique qualities, but this holiday puts us back on the right track.
To those who are in tune with themselves and see the world and life as about giving rather than receiving, Christmas helps us understand that those around us are the true gifts of life.
Finally, in addition to revealing secrets about ourselves, and each other, Christmas also sends us in pursuit of the secrets of God, if you believe in the almighty. Currently, there is so much political correctness and people against believing in a spiritual being, but for me, I do believe.
I honestly believe Christmas is less of a finding than a seeking. This season calls upon us to spend a few moments pursuing the truth. The truth of the gift of life we’ve been handed each day. The truth of the gift of each other, so often taken for granted. And the unfolding truth of a God made man, who pursues us if we would only do the same.
What a secretly beautiful set of presents to unwrap—today and every day.
