Bernie Sanders-Aligned Group Uses Charlottesville to Raise Money

When they go low, we go high – and we make bank of it.

That should be the new liberal slogan, especially in the wake of the tragedy in Charlottesville over the weekend.

As the left is quick to denounce – and rightly so – the neo-Nazis and white supremacists, they refuse to recognize the culpability of their own side in behaving violently. And even worse, they’re trying to raise money off of the tragedy.

Our Revolution, a non-profit started out of the Bernie Sanders presidential campaign, decided to make a buck off of the mourning nation, soliciting donations via email just as the country was coming to grips with the horror in Charlotesville.

Via the Daily Caller:

An activist group founded by Bernie Sanders is attempting to raise money off of the deaths in Charlottesville, Virginia.

At the bottom very bottom of the email there is a link to donate to Our Revolution. “Help us continue transforming American politics and fighting for progressive candidates and causes by contributing to Our Revolution here.” (Link removed.)

Democrats have courted controversy by fundraising off tragedies in the past, including the Boston Marathon bombing, the Newtown massacre, Benghazi, and the Orlando terrorist attack at the Pulse nightclub.

This is absolutely sickening. Bernie’s merry band of socialists is preying on the anger, confusion, and sadness felt by many after the tragic events in Charlottesville.

Here’s a good rule of thumb for politics: Don’t raise money off of tragedies. It’s not only in bad taste, it’s offensive to the victims and their families.

Bernie Sanders should be ashamed. But given his penchant for underhanded financial dealings, and his knack for petty theft, this kind of behavior isn’t surprising.

Never let a good crisis go to waste is the progressive mantra. And Bernie and friends just fulfilled it to a tee.
