On Saturday, former President Donald Trump said that he plans to “make a decision” on a potential running for president again in 2024 “in the not too distant future.”
Trump made these remarks to Fox News correspondent Mark Meredith after his speech to North Carolina Republicans on Saturday.

Trump: ‘I Think A Lot Of People Are Going To Be Very Happy’
The speech was his first major address since leaving the White House for Mar-a-Lago after the 2020 election.
“I’m going to make a decision, it will be a decision where I think a lot of people are going to be very happy but I’m not really prohibited because of all of the campaign finance rules and other things from even discussing that very much, but I will tell you that I’ll make a decision in the not too distant future, maybe sooner than people think,” Trump told Fox News.
He added, “And I think they’re going to be very happy.”
Trump also talked about if former Vice President Mike Pence will be his running mate in 2024 should he run.
Trump said he “was disappointed with Mike on one thing” but also believes it’s “too early” to broach that subject.

‘Mike And I Have A Good Relationship’
“Well I don’t know, it’s really too soon to tell,” Trump said. “But certainly we had a very good relationship.”
“I was disappointed with Mike on one thing as he understands and some other people understand, but overall, I had a very good relationship with Mike and he’s a very fine person and a fine man,” Trump added.
Trump continued, “I was disappointed on one account, but that was a choice that Mike made, and I want people to make their own decisions and he did.”
“And, you know Mike and I have a good relationship, we continue to have a good — but it’s too early to be discussing running mates certainly,” the former president insisted.

Trump says ‘nobody can be happy’ with Biden’s leadership
When asked if he believed President Joe Biden was doing a good job so far, he avoided answering the question directly, but did give critical opinion on the current administration’s handling of border security, the economy and other issues.
Trump added, “Nobody can be happy with what’s happening in this country, with respect to leadership.”
