Who is Rep. Frederica Wilson? 5 Despicable Things She’s Done

The hearing comes in the wake of fourteen patient deaths at the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills, Florida, which lost power after Hurricane Irma struck Florida. Democrat Florida Rep. Frederica Wilson has entered the forefront of the public eye thanks to her recent politicizing of a Gold Star family’s grief. On Thursday, she literally bragged that the ordeal had turned her into a “rock star.”

So who is Federica Wilson? This wasn’t the first time she made a clown of herself.

Here are five other questionable things Rep. Wilson has done and said – aside from her penchant for gaudy hats.

She recommended that George Zimmerman be arrested “for his own safety”

Wilson first made national headlines back in 2012 for her racially divisive comments regarding the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. Not only did she say that Martin was “hunted down like a rabid dog,” but she also suggested that George Zimmerman be arrested “for his own safety.” In other words, Wilson was willing strip Zimmerman of his right to due process in order to gain brownie points with the radical anti-gun, racist left.

She wants to repeal Stand Your Ground laws

Ever since the death of Martin, Wilson has attempted over and over again to pass legislation repealing Florida’s Stand Your Ground law as well as other similar laws throughout the country. She first introduced the Stand Your Ground Repeal Act in June 2012. Most recently, she sponsored a bill in February 2015 that urged the House to press “any State legislature to reject or repeal Stand Your Ground legislation.”

All of this is ironic, considering she supported a “Stand Your Ground” bill as a Florida state senator. As go the political winds of convenience, so goes Wilson’s vote, apparently.

She told her constituents “the Tea Party is the real enemy”

Back in 2011, before anyone knew or cared who Wilson was, she engaged in divisive, partisan rhetoric typical of the left. At a town hall meeting in Miami sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus, she told her constituents, “Let us all remember who the real enemy is… the real enemy is the Tea Party… the Tea Party holds the Congress hostage.” If that’s not bad enough, the town hall meeting was supposed to be about creating jobs in South Florida. Instead, Wilson took it as an opportunity to vilify the right.

She accused Donald Trump of being mentally ill

Wilson’s recent antics are far from the first time she’s attacked President Trump. After the Washington Post reported in May that Trump had shared classified information with Russians in the White House, Wilson said, “I believe that the president is desperate for attention and needs psychological help.” Five months later, the liberal Russia witch-hunt has turned up a whole lot of nothing and it’s Wilson who’s desperate for attention.

She’s consistently voted against veterans

In an unbelievably hypocritical twist to this whole ordeal, it turns out that Wilson is no friend to veterans when it comes to her voting record. According to vote-tracking site VoteSmart.org, Wilson has voted against a bevy of pro-veteran measures. She’s consistently opposed bills ensuring continued funding for veteran benefits, including payments to widows of fallen soldiers. She’s also opposed measures designed to improve the Department of Veterans Affairs, and, despicably, she voted against a bill that could have ensured that families of four soldiers slain in Afghanistan in 2013 received death and burial benefits.

Share this if you think Rep. Frederica Wilson is a hypocritical joke who should be thrown out of Congress!
