Has The White House Leaker Finally Been Revealed?

Has a White House leaker finally been found? The person responsible for leaking a particular inappropriate comment from White House staffer Kelly Salder may have been uncovered. (RELATED: Sarah Huckabee Sanders Says White House Leakers ‘Should Be Fired’).

In case you forgot, Sadler had reportedly made a joke about Sen. John McCain’s brain cancer earlier in the month, stating that his opinion doesn’t matter because “he’s going to die anyway.” The comment was in regards to McCain’s opposition to the confirmation of Gina Haspel for CIA director. Sadler would later apologize to McCain directly for the comments, which received immense blowback.

While this doesn’t excuse her comments in any way, their leak to the media may have revealed who at least one leaker in the White House is.

According to Spectator USA:

The leaker has yet to be named, but The Spectator has spoken to an insider connected to the White House who placed the blame on Deputy Communications Director Raj Shah. And a separate White House staffer confirmed the allegation. “It was/is widely suspected among all staff & those of us in contact with staff [that Shah was behind the leak],” the individual told the Spectator.

“Raj’s motivations aren’t even totally ideological,” the individual told The Spectator, referring to the fact Shah was no fan of Trump before he became president. “Basically, he’s trading information to journalists so that he can get softballs (directly from a contact, or by extended favour) and appear to manage WH PR well when he stands in Sanders’ role, both to protect and advance his own tenure in the job, and to set himself up after his time in the WH if he is let go, or he finds a TV role or Trump isn’t re-elected,” he added.

Meanwhile, Sadler has her own idea of who the leaker is, accusing Mercedes Schlapp (a senior communications official) of leaking the comment in an open door meeting with Trump, Schlapp, and Shaj. That confrontation occurred after Schlapp publicly defended Sadler when her comments were leaked, and Schlapp denied the allegations.

While it hasn’t been confirmed who leaked Sadler’s comments, there are two potential candidates, with sources pointing to Shah. Let’s see how he responds to the charges.
