After the President delivered a moving pro-military speech prior to Veterans Day, one Vietnam vet tearfully thanked Trump for his support of the military and the two embraced in a tearful hug.

“Our veterans are a national treasure, and I thank them all for their service, sacrifice, and patriotism,” President Trump. “To each of you with me today, you are the heroes who fulfill your duty to our nation. And each of you, under the most difficult conditions, did what you had to do, and you did it well.

Trump then turned over the podium to several Vietnam veterans, offering them a chance to give their own remarks.

One man stepped forward, fighting through his words and emotions to thank the President.

“Mr. President, from my heart, thank you for your support of the military, and it’s an honor to be here as one of seven Vietnam veterans representing the 58,000 heroes that never made it home,” he said choking up a bit. “Thank you so much.”

Before leaving the podium, Trump gave the veteran a good solid hug and thanked him with a reaffirming pat on the shoulder.

Remember, these are the same military men and women who returned home from the horrors of Vietnam by being spit on and mocked by anti-war liberals.

Yet, do you think for even an instant that had a veteran embraced Obama in this manner that the media wouldn’t be playing the clip on a 24/7 loop?

Other vets on the stage had kind words to say about President Trump’s efforts to honor and respect the military.

“I just want to say what an honor and privilege it is to be with our President,” one veteran said. “I still admire what you’re doing for our country. Thank you for your dedication to our military, our country, and we’re all behind you in making America great again.”

Trump then signed a proclamation to honor the veterans of the Vietnam War.
