CNN anchor Don Lemon unloaded on Senator Tim Scott for saying “woke supremacy is as bad as white supremacy.”
Scott made the comment in response to MSNBC anchor Joy Reid who had suggested Scott (R-SC) was simply a token Republican.
Reid was riled up last week over Scott’s participation in a GOP press conference of senators opposing raising the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour.
“You’ve got to love Tim Scott standing there to provide the patina of diversity over that round of words, that basket full of words,” Reid sneered.
“Woke supremacy is as bad as white supremacy. We need to take that seriously,” Scott fired back.
“Woke supremacy is as bad as white supremacy—we need to take that seriously… Matthew 5:44 [‘But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you’] is still available to be read.”

Don Lemon Melts Down Over Tim Scott’s Comment About Woke Supremacy
Being a Democrat Party talking head, er … CNN journalist, Lemon declined to provide any context to Scott’s quote.
Preceding the quip, Scott hammered Reid, saying, “When she calls a United States Senator who’s a subject matter expert a prop, a token, or a superficial covering, that’s personal and that’s wrong and she should be held to account.”
Lemon instead seized on the quote and became visibly exasperated that Scott would make such a comment.
“Do you want to explain who these woke supremacists are? Because I looked really carefully and … I haven’t seen any woke supremacists,” Lemon said apparently having never purchased a mirror.
“I never saw — I’ve never seen a woke supremacist lynching anybody,” he continued.
“Never saw a woke supremacist denying anybody access to housing, or a job, or education, or voting rights. Never saw any woke supremacists enslaving anybody. Never saw any woke supremacists trying to keep people from marrying amongst different races. Come on, Tim Scott!” he shouted.

The Attack Continues
Don Lemon continued his attack on Tim Scott by saying the Capitol riots were overrun with ‘white supremacy,’ not ‘woke supremacy.’
“Guess who I saw. Guess who police officers were beaten by. Guess who wanted to hang the vice president. White supremacists, Tim Scott!” Lemon shouted.
That’s right, Don Lemon believes ‘white supremacists’ wanted to hang the exceedingly white Mike Pence.
He went on to accuse Scott of “gaslighting people” and “giving people misinformation.”

Lemon began the segment by noting, as all good leftist ‘journalists’ do, that Scott “is the only black Republican in the Senate.”
The statement is meant to give off some sort of illusion that the Democrat Party is the party of diversity. In reality, as Joy Reid might say, it is simply a ‘patina of diversity.’
While Scott is the ‘only black Republican in the Senate,’ there are only two – count them two – black Democrats in the Senate. They are Cory Booker (D-Sparta) and Raphael Warnock (D-GA). Warnock was just elected in January.
Scott has addressed the consistent degrading of his role as the ‘only black Republican’ in the past.
“Don’t throw ‘you’re the only black guy they know’ at me either,” he railed this past summer as Democrats refused to work with him on police reform legislation. “There are only two black Democratic Senators, stop pretending there’s some huge racial diversity gap in the Senate.”
Kamala Harris was a Senator prior to being elected Vice President.
“Ask my Dem colleagues what their staffs look like … I guarantee you won’t like the answer,” he added.

There is a sizable intellectual chasm between Scott and Lemon. This is why the latter has no idea what the former is talking about when it comes to ‘woke supremacy.’
