Tim Scott Slams MSNBC’s Joy Reid: ‘Woke Supremacy Is As Bad As White Supremacy’

Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) and former congressman Trey Gowdy blasted MSNBC anchor Joy Reid after she suggested the former was simply a token Republican.
Reid was riled up last week over Scott’s participation in a GOP press conference of senators opposing raising the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour.
Scott at the time claimed the “last thing” Democrats should do is increase costs on businesses in the midst of a pandemic.
“There’s no worse response to a pandemic than to eliminate jobs,” he said.
“You’ve got to love Tim Scott standing there to provide the patina of diversity over that round of words, that basket full of words,” Reid told Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA).

Tim Scott, Trey Gowdy Hammer Joy Reid’s Racist Smear
Tim Scott responded to Joy Reid’s racist smear, appearing on “Fox News Primetime” with host Trey Gowdy.
“Woke supremacy is as bad as white supremacy. We need to take that seriously,” Scott said.
Scott further eviscerated Reid on social media tweeting, “Unfortunately, I have become accustomed to hearing casual racism and insults from the ‘tolerant’ left.”
He added, “For a party and movement that claims to embrace diversity and tolerance, they sure seem to hate hearing my story or hearing my perspective.”
“Woke supremacy is as bad as white supremacy—we need to take that seriously… Matthew 5:44 [‘But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you’] is still available to be read.”

Gowdy, the former Representative from South Carolina and a good friend of Scott, also took some shots at Reid for her vile comments.
Gowdy said that “when [Reid] calls a United States Senator who’s a subject matter expert a prop, a token, or a superficial covering, that’s personal and that’s wrong and she should be held to account.”
“He can stand wherever the hell he wants to stand,” he shot back, “because he’s earned the right to be there.”
Liberals can’t grasp the fact that millions of minorities in this country refuse to be told how to think because of their race. So, they insult them. @SenatorTimScott is a fantastic senator and role model. Joy Reid should apologize.https://t.co/2tPMx8ZzVR

Reid’s History Of Racially Charged Remarks
Reid has a history of racially charged rhetoric that would get most people fired from their day jobs.
This past November she referred to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas – a far more accomplished African-American – as “Uncle Clarence,” an apparent reference to Uncle Tom.

In 2012, the MSNBC host attacked Scott in an “open letter” following his appointment to the U.S. Senate, telling him not to be a “token” for the Republican Party.
More recently, she made disgusting remarks suggesting conservatives would trade tax cuts to have the chance to openly say a reprehensible racial term.
“People on the right would trade all the tax cuts for the ability to openly say the n-word like in ‘the good old days,’” she tweeted. “To them, not being able to be openly racist and discriminatory without consequence is oppression.”
I’ll say it again: people on the right would trade all the tax cuts for the ability to openly say the n-word like in “the good old days.” To them, not being able to be openly racist and discriminatory without consequence is oppression. Trump is the avatar for this “freedom.” https://t.co/RlqAFYe5Zr

Reid was forced to apologize in 2018 after homophobic and anti-Semitic blog posts from the 2000s surfaced, something she attempted to blame on hackers.
She continues to be featured prominently on MSNBC with her show “The Reidout” airing in primetime.
