WATCH: Comrade De Blasio Shouts Communist Cuba Revolutionary Slogan… In Miami

Bill de Blasio shouted a slogan associated with the Cuban communist revolution at a rally Thursday, in a city known for residents who fled the Castro dictatorship.

The New York City mayor and Democrat presidential candidate was trying to inspire cargo workers who are currently on strike at Miami International Airport.

And just like his colleagues at the previous night’s Democratic presidential debate, de Blasio decided to pander to the workers in this heavily Hispanic city by speaking Spanish.

Except he failed miserably.

Swept up in the excitement, de Blasio told those gathered ’round that he stands by them “every step of the way” before shouting “Hasta la Victoria, siempre!”

The phrase means “Until victory, always” and is most often associated with the revolutionary leader Che Guevara, but was later used by Fidel Castro, both of whom were considered murderous oppressors.

Humberto Fontova of Townhall has written that many of Guevara’s political prisoners “qualify as the longest-suffering political prisoners in modern history, having suffered prison camps, forced labor and torture chambers.”

Sen. Annette Taddeo, a Democrat state Senator in Florida, ripped de Blasio asking “How can anyone wanting to be the leader of the free world quote a murderous guerrilla – in Miami no less!”

Todas Las Disculpas

It wasn’t long before the mayor had to apologize for not knowing the phrase was associated with communist oppressors.

Incredible that de Blasio is apologizing for using messages and phrases of historical importance while not knowing what they mean.

Especially incredible when he just lectured Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for doing the same thing with her unhinged ‘concentration camp‘ rhetoric.

“We have to be very careful to state accurately what’s really going on,” he said. “I think we have to be very careful.”

Félix Rodríguez, a Bay of Pigs veteran who helped the Bolivian army capture Guevara, said there are only two reasons de Blasio would have used this phrase – either he didn’t really know Guevara or, well, we’ll let you decide.

“Does he really know who Che Guevara was?” Rodríguez asked. “I don’t think so. If he does, he’s a f****ing a**hole.”
