It has to be bad when even the Cuomo brothers think comparisons of detention centers to concentration camps is a bridge too far.
New York State governor Andrew Cuomo eviscerated Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for comparing holding centers for illegal immigrants to Nazi-era death camps.
In fact, he suggested the Democrat socialist really doesn’t know what she’s talking about when it comes to history.
Speaking to reporters at his office in Manhattan Thursday, Cuomo said “I think it’s a wholly inappropriate comparison. The Holocaust, you’re talking about a tragedy of biblical proportion and one of the greatest tragedies in history.”
Governor Cuomo on AOC’s concentration camp remarks: “It’s wholly inappropriate comparison. … Six million Jews died during the Holocaust, there is no comparison to the Holocaust, period.”

She’s Not Smart
Cuomo, who is embarking on a trip to Israel, really laid into the New York congresswoman, questioning her intelligence on the matter.
“Six million Jews died during the Holocaust,” he explained. “There is no comparison to the Holocaust, period, and to draw an equivalency suggests one does not understand what happened in the Holocaust.”

And yet, Ocasio-Cortez still thinks she’s in the right on this topic – despite people on both sides of the aisle referring to her either as ignorant or insensitive for using the analogy.
Last week, we called the concentration camps at the border for what they are.
In the week since:
– Acting director of Customs & Border Patrol resigned
– Bank of America announced they will stop financing for-profit immigrant detention & private prisons.Words matter. https://t.co/xzBMotvTSB

She actually believes there’s a correlation between her words and what is happening with the humanitarian crisis at the border – the humanitarian crisis her party has created, denied, and now weeps over.
Chris Cuomo Blasts Analogy As Well
Even Andrew’s little brother, Chris Cuomo, thinks the comparison between the border situation and Nazi Germany is a little ridiculous.
In a discussion with co-propagandist Don Lemon, Cuomo lambasted the former’s attempts to double down on Ocasio-Cortez’s comments, comparing media coverage today to when Hitler was coming to power.
“Comparing anything to an extreme like a Hitler – it weakens the argument,” Cuomo sternly debated, “because you are now taking a guy who says things you don’t like and comparing him to a genocidal maniac.”
Governor Cuomo v. Ocasio-Cortez
Governor Cuomo and the socialist darling have had their little spats before.
Earlier this year, he took a jab at Ocasio-Cortez for squashing a deal with Amazon to establish their second headquarters in New York City.
Cuomo blasted the “small group [of] politicians” who “put their own narrow political interests above their community,” adding they “should be held accountable for this lost economic opportunity.”
It was a direct shot at Ocasio-Cortez, whose opposition to Amazon cost the state and her constituents well over 25,000 potential jobs.
Despite all of this, Cuomo, who has become as far-left as the freshman congresswoman in recent years, if not worse, still agrees that the situation at the border is “horrendous” and a “human rights violation.”
Perhaps he should have encouraged his party to fix it when they had a chance.
