CNN senior national reporter Kyung Lah attempted to get a quick interview with GOP Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, only to get blasted back to reality with a sharp response that had to have left a mark.
Lake’s campaign page posted the video to Twitter and described Lah’s interview attempt as an ‘ambush.’
The incident took place as Lake was entering an unspecified event back in June.
The Republican candidate took a shot at the fact that Lah wasn’t wearing a mask, referencing a previous segment in which the CNN reporter ‘introduced’ her by airing a statement that the media felt was controversial at the time.
“No masks in here? Another round of applause,” Lake said at the time. “Of course the media’s all masked up. They want to spread the fear.”
Lah told viewers in the segment, “This is our introduction to Kari Lake, rising star of the right-wing and proud spreader of lies about the 2020 election results.”
If Lah thought that incident wasn’t going to have repercussions, she badly miscalculated.
“Have a minute to chat,” she asked.

Kari Lake Just Destroys CNN
After asking if she has a moment to chat, CNN’s Kyung Lah seemed delighted to hear Kari Lake respond in the affirmative.
“I’ll do an interview …” Lake replied, prompting Lah to give a celebratory nod and declare, “Okay.”
That’s when the pain got delivered.
“… as long as it airs on CNN+,” Lake finished.
“Does that still exist?” the Arizona gubernatorial candidate continues in a soothing, yet mocking tone. “I didn’t think so, because the people don’t like what you guys are peddling, which is propaganda. Thank you.”
Lake doesn’t release her handshake with Lah during the entire UFC-level beatdown.
Within days, the video clip had been viewed over 2.3 million times.

CNN+ was perhaps one of the costliest, incredibly short-lived debacles in the history of news media.
The streaming service was shuttered just one month after its launch.
The New York Times reported on the shutdown, noting that CNN had poured “tens of millions of dollars” into an effort that was launched and celebrated as “an historic day” for the network on March 29th.
The entire fiasco prompted podcast host Joe Rogan to mock them as “CNN Minus.”

“They spent $300 million dollars and got 10,000 subscribers,” Rogan said. “Imagine the hubris of thinking that something people don’t want for free, you’re gonna charge money for it.”
Imagine that. And CNN’s reporters still think, as evidenced by the Kari Lake exchange, that people want to hear their propaganda.
