The former President Donald Trump reignited his feud with the woke soccer star Megan Rapinoe after a mistake that she made got the U.S. women’s soccer team kicked out of the World Cup.

Trump Eviscerates Rapinoe After World Cup Loss

Daily Mail reported that Team USA lost to Sweden by a score of 5-4 on penalties, with Rapinoe missing a crucial penalty kick that could have saved her team. This sent Team USA out of the World Cup in just the second round, making this their earliest exit from a major tournament.

The loss was particularly crushing for Rapinoe, as this was her last World Cup before she retires. Trump was quick to rub salt into her wounds by taking to Truth Social to reignite their longstanding feud.

“The ‘shocking and totally unexpected’ loss by the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team to Sweden is fully emblematic of what is happening to the our once great Nation under Crooked Joe Biden,'” Trump wrote.

“Many of our players were openly hostile to America – No other country behaved in such a manner, or even close,” Trump continued. “WOKE EQUALS FAILURE. Nice shot Megan, the USA is going to Hell!!! MAGA.”

Rapinoe, who has long fancied herself to be the woke Colin Kaepernick of the women’s soccer world, responded with a brief statement of her own.

“It’s a real sad dig into an old bag,” she said. “I’m just like, ‘You’re rooting for people to do bad?’ Yikes.”

Others Bash Rapinoe 

Unfortunately for Rapinoe, however, Trump was far from the only public figure to attack her over the loss.

“Woke U.S. Women’s Soccer Humiliation,” tweeted Benny Johnson, head of Turning Point USA. “After winning back-to-back World Cups the heavily favored Team USA has been eliminated by Sweden in the [Round of 16]. Team USA’s downfall was delivered by anti-America, anti-woman activist Megan Rapinoe’s embarrassing free [penalty] kick her.”

“I root for America every single time they compete in sports, except for women’s soccer,” said conservative political strategist Joey Mannarino. “The game was lost because Megan Rapinoe, the woke piece of trash, missed a penalty kick.

“So Megan now bears the responsibility for why the US lost,” he continued. “I am so glad to see it. Go woke, go broke! Megan Rapinoe will now enter retirement with her head hung in shame.”

Rapinoe Laughs After Missing Penalty

Rapinoe was also widely criticized for laughing after missing the penalty kick that ultimately cost her team the game. Right after she missed the kick, Rapinoe was seen giggling and smirking to herself as she jogged back to the halfway line.

“I don’t see what’s funny about this?” one social media user commented, according to The Mail. “The laughing shows how much this team took this as a joke. So much for being a role model for the rest of the team.”

“I’m generally a Megan Rapinoe fan, but laughing after a missed penalty is not a good look,” a second user wrote, with a third adding, “Megan Rapinoe laughing after she missed a game winning pk… never happier to see a player retire. Never want to see her on my tv again. What a way to end your career.”

Rapinoe tried to explain the reasoning behind her laughter after the game.

“This is dark comedy, I missed a penalty. This is the balance to the beautiful side of the game,” she said, later adding, “It’s a sick, sick joke. I’ve never hit it over, when I miss they are saved.”

Rapinoe’s Woke History

Rapinoe made headlines back in 2017 when she joined Kaepernick in taking a knee during the national anthem before her games. Since then, she’s continued to go full woke, bashing America seemingly every chance she gets.

Rapinoe also frequently spoke out against Trump during his presidency, calling him a “white nationalist” whose “spewing of hate and ‘othering’ of the rest of the country” has only damaged America, according to Yahoo News.

The way Rapinoe ended her final game just goes to show that she should have been focusing a little more on soccer and a little less on being woke and anti-Trump. Had she done that, perhaps she would have been able to make that penalty shot!
