Trump Tells Iraq the U.S. Will Leave When We Are Compensated For Building Air Base

You may not like President Donald Trump as a leader. You may disagree with his decisions (since you are privy to all the information he has and you sat in that room giving your expert opinion as he weighed our options).

But he’s exactly what this country and world needed. You can disagree, but you’d be wrong. Then again you’re wrong on so many other things it gets boring, yet here we are. If you think there is anything that will keep him from being reelected, you’d be wrong. There is nothing you can do.

Been a while since we had a “real man” in the White House. Been a while.

“We’re not leaving unless they pay us back for it,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One as it flew from his home in Palm Springs, Florida, back to Washington.

“We have a very extraordinarily expensive airbase that’s there. It cost billions of dollars to build. Long before my time. We’re not leaving unless they pay us back for it,” he said.

Iraq’s parliament Sunday voted in favor of expelling U.S. troops from the country in response to the killing last week of top Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani. It is not clear how Iraq will proceed in the wake of the vote.

The president did not specify the airbase, but he was presumably referencing the al-Asad Airbase in Anbar province, which he has previously said cost the United States a “fortune” to build. The base was originally built by the Iraqis, but the United States made investments to improve it after ousting Saddam Hussein in 2003. [Washington Examiner]

The U.S. is a world military power and can’t be threatened by Iran. You don’t become a world power by backing out to threats and or saying please. Cowardice will get you nowhere in these dangerous times and troubled world. Trump knows this and is doing the right moves.

Without nuclear weapons, Iran will not dare attack the US. Under conventional warfare, they have no chance against the USA/Israel/Saudi coalition. All of these threats are nothing but posturing. Iran would retaliate only in words, and possibly vows another “mother of all battles.” If they have found a way to hurt the USA, they would have done so, long before.

They know the US military might and it would be their end if they do attack.
