Trump Says He Was Impressed With How Well The Families Of Fallen Soldiers Were Handling Their Tragedy
Trump described how emotional those moments were as soldiers’ coffins were being returned to the U.S.
āIād be at Dover, where these magnificent machines would come in, the big cargo planes, and that door would open up, and thereād be a coffin in the back,” Trump said. “And the military, the soldiers, would take that coffin and walk it off the plane.”
“And Iād be with the parents an hour before, and weād be talking, and Iād say to the general in charge, āGeneral, the parents seemed to be OK,ā and heād say, āNo, theyāre not, sir,” Trump explained.
“Theyāre not OK,'” Trump recalled the general telling him.

āI said, āGeneral, Iām having a great conversation.ā And the mothers oftentimes would say, āOh, my son was such a great football player. Sir, he had an arm that was so powerful,'” Trump said, explaining how parents would express how proud they were of their children.
“He was so strong, and he could throw a ball so far,” Trump said parents would say. “He was such a good player,ā or other things. Theyād tell me these stories.”
He added, “They just were so in love with telling the stories about their son or their daughter, in some cases, their daughter.ā

Trump On Grieving Parents: ‘Screams Like Iāve Never Heard Before’
The former president marveled over how āamazingā the families āhandledā the death of their loved ones.”
But soon learned that mood would change.
āAnd then, the plane would come in, and the general would say, āSir, itās not going to be good.ā And that door would open up, that big back door, right, would open up from this incredible, powerful machine that can lift up Army tanks like itās nothing,” Trump remembered.
That when things became intense, and understandably so.
Trump recalled, “And it would open up, and thereād be one or two or three or four coffins, and Iād see the same people that were talking to me so jubilant about their child, how great the child was, would start screaming, screaming.”
“Screams like Iāve never heard before,ā Trump sadly said.
So sad to hear Trump talking about fallen soldiers' mothers and wives screaming and jumping on their coffins. #bringthemhomeALIVE

Trump: Time To Get U.S. Out Of ‘Endless Wars’
āIt was the most terrible thing to watch,” he added. “And the general in charge would say, āSir, youāre going to see things that you maybe will not have seen.ā āLike what, General?’ He said, ‘Mothers and wives, and even fathers sometimes, breaking through the military ranks and jumping on top of the coffin.”
Trump then explained he saw exactly that once.

“And I got to see that one time where a mother, she was devastated,” he said. “She jumped on, and these incredible, extremely fit soldiers are taking that coffin, and would jump onto the coffin, and they wouldnāt do a thing, they would just keep walking.”
The former president then began to explain that America needs to get completely out of these “endless wars,” and that he was glad President Joe Biden said he will continue the withdrawal Trump started.

Biden Pushed Back Trump’s Original Afghanistan Withdrawal Date
āAnd weāre moving them out,ā Trump said. āWeāre moving them back. Twenty-one years. You know, youāve heard 19 years, but itās not 19. Now, itās 21 years in Afghanistan. Itās enough.”
Trump then noted, “And we havenāt lost a soldier in Afghanistan since January of last year. Not one single soldierās been lost. Pretty amazing. Itās pretty amazing.ā
The Trump administration had negotiated a deal to have all U.S. troops removed from Afghanistan – America’s longest war – by May 1.
President Joe Biden later pushed that deadline back to Sept. 11 of this year.
