Trump Sticks to His Plan on Illegals: “We’re a Country of Laws”

Capture

In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he is absolutely “not backing away” from his plan to deport millions of illegal immigrants.

“It’s not a pleasant thing, but you have to do it,” he explained. “We’re a country of laws.”

Trump also expanded on his plan to solve the problem of illegal immigration, saying he wants to make sure “the good ones” are able to get back in rather quickly.

“So many people want to come into this country … they’re waiting in line. They’re doing it legally,” he added.

Trump said that it’s “very unfair” for those actually following American immigration laws to watch others simply cross the border illegally and possibly be granted amnesty.

Here is a transcript of the exchange:

TAPPER: “You released your first radio ads this week. The ads tout your support for building a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border. It doesn’t mention your plan for deporting 11 million undocumented immigrants. Is that an indication that you’re backing away in any way from that proposal?”

TRUMP: “I’m not backing away. You have to get them out. You have to do what Dwight Eisenhower did in the early ‘50s. He moved a million- and-a-half out. It’s not a pleasant thing, but you have to do it. You have to — you have — we’re a country of laws. You have to move them out and get them back in, the good ones. We are going to get them back in. We will expedite. We will work it out. But we’re a country of laws. You have thousands, tens of thousands.”

TAPPER: “All right.”

TRUMP: “So many people wanting to come into this country, Jake, and they’re waiting in line. They’re doing it legally. Very unfair.”

  1. Donald Trump; is the only candidate; that puts his money where his mouth is!
EVERY other candidate,is trying to ameliorate the real problem!
What part of “illegal”, is it that you don’t understand?
Hardship? we all have been there!
    They now have families?
    That’s Natural!
They have had it easy, and don’t appreciate our laws; When you commit a crime; you normally, have to pay a penalty! It’s not Rocket Science!

  2. Trump is right on the money here they need to go and come in the proper way, anyone that doesn’t understand this needs to go back to school get some education, there would be no problem today if the Gov. had followed the laws on the books, now we got a messy job to do, but it must be done, Also better think about any Serians or others , better listen to what European countries are telling us.

  3. The first illegal to be charged should be the alias, Barack H. Obama, who was brought into the USA illegally and installed into the POTUS slot illegally. He should be immediately incarcerated, and charged with treason, as an agent of a foreign government. Secondly all persons who actively assisted with his entry into the US should be immediately incarcerated, and charged with treason, for assisting a foreign government to conduct subterfuge on the USA.
