President Trump, amidst the backdrop of Anthony Kennedy’s retirement from the Supreme Court, issued a letter to the National Right to Life Committee reaffirming his stance on pro-life issues.
At one point during his candidacy, many conservatives were trepidatious over Trump’s pro-life credentials. He had made statements to the contrary in the past but had evolved on the matter. Still, some were skeptical.
A good portion of the skepticism dissipated with the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. Gorsuch is a favorite of social conservatives due to his pro-life views and his record defending religious liberty.
Now, with Kennedy’s retirement, Trump stands poised to nominate another conservative, giving the Supreme Court a 6 to 3 right-leaning advantage.
His choice may shape the court for decades to come and has liberals foaming at the mouth over the possibility of Roe v. Wade being overturned.

With his letter to pro-life supporters, the President did nothing to sway minds that he wouldn’t select a pro-life Constitutional scholar for the highest court in the land. (RELATED: Trump Doubles Down On Roe V Wade — Abortion May Soon ‘End Up With States’).
“We all have a duty to defend the most basic and fundamental human right — the right to life,” he said. “As President, I am dedicated to protecting the lives of every American including the unborn.”

Hillary Clinton, in an interview with “Meet the Press,” expressed her belief that babies in the womb are not privy to the same Constitutional protections afforded all other living human beings.

“For the first time since Roe v. Wade, America has a pro-life president, a pro-life vice president, a pro-life House and 25 pro-life state capitals,” Trump said at a keynote speech for the Susan B. Anthony List annual Campaign For Life in May.
He even gave his take on an alternative to abortion.
“We celebrate all lives. We celebrate the loving choice of adoption. Every life is sacred and every child is a precious gift from God,” he said
“I’ve kept my promise to stand for life. When I ran for office, I pledged to stand for life,” he added. “That’s exactly what I’ve done.”
Now he must continue to make that pledge a reality by nominating another pro-life Supreme Court justice.
