Trump Posts First Video On His Own Communications Platform, Launched After Twitter And Facebook Bans

Donald Trump has unveiled his new communications platform, posting a video announcement months after being banned by social media giants Twitter and Facebook.

The video is a short clip announcing the arrival of Trump’s own platform which promises to serve as “a place to speak freely and safely.”

And it has all the dramatics you’d expect from the former President.

“In a time of silence and lies,” captions on the video read over news reports of Twitter’s permanent ban of a man who 75 million people voted for in 2020.

“A beacon of freedom arises. A place to speak freely and safely,” it continues. “Straight from the Desk of Donald J. Trump.”

While promising a place to speak freely, the site appears to be more of a blog in its current form, containing posts of Trump’s past media statements. It does not, as of yet, feature an area for supporters or followers to comment.

Trump Communications Platform A Response To Bans

It had been speculated for months that Trump may attempt to launch his own social media platform as a means to combat bans from sites like Twitter and Facebook.

This site doesn’t address that.

Jason Miller, a senior adviser to Trump, assures fans that, “We’ll have additional information coming on that front in the very near future.”

Facebook announced Wednesday that they are upholding Trump’s ban on their platform. Twitter already permanently banned the former President.

Ironically, posts on the “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” communications platform have prominent share buttons for both big tech companies.

The new site does allow the President to keep in touch with supporters who may not have signed up for his email list, where these statements have already been delivered.

There Needs To Be More

There needs to be a stronger call for free speech in this country and the former President needs to lead the way.

A concerted effort by the left to silence conservatives has been unrelenting.

Black Lives Matter, a group more closely aligned with the far-left politically, just released a list of demands in which they call on Trump to be “permanently” banned from “all digital media platforms.”

“Trump has always used his digital media platforms recklessly and irresponsibly to spread lies and disinformation,” their demand list reads. “He must be stopped from encouraging his mob and further endangering our communities.”

Last week, employees at book publisher Simon & Schuster filed a petition demanding the company cut ties with authors associated with the previous administration.

The petition requests that the publisher avoid treating “the Trump administration as a ‘normal’ chapter in American history.”

Conservatives should have listened when Big Tech was censoring less savory individuals like Alex Jones and Milo Yiannopoulos.

Instead of having the attitude that, ‘Well, this is okay because they’re not good people,’ conservatives should have recognized that fascists on the left were never going to let up once the floodgates opened.

They won’t stop until speech from conservatives – even the former President of the United States – is permanently banned in America.
