Here’s a name you might remember, the scourge in every liberal’s worst nightmares back in the George W. Bush era. Back when Democrats actually believed that leaking sensitive information to the media was a national scandal.
President Trump has signed off on another controversial pardon, this time involving Scooter J. Libby, former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney.

Libby was convicted in 2007 of obstruction of justice and lying to the FBI over a case involving a leak of the identity of Valerie Plame, a former covert CIA operative.
Plame, you may recall, was outed by journalist Robert Novak after her husband, a former diplomat, publicly repudiated Bush’s claims about Iraq and weapons of mass destruction.
Bush was willing to commute Libby’s sentence, sparing him prison time, but would not pardon.
Reports have now surfaced, or leaked rather, that President Trump is set to make that pardon a reality, with some even saying he’s already signed off on it after consideration over several months.

Plame has become a noted anti-Trumper who actually hatched a scheme last year to crowdfund $1 billion, then buy the social media platform Twitter in an attempt to ban the President.
“Donald Trump has done a lot of horrible things on Twitter,” Plame wrote. “From emboldening white supremacists to promoting violence against journalists, his tweets damage the country and put people in harm’s way.”
“It’s time to shut him down.”

She fell slightly short of her $1 billion goal, raising just under $90,000.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders mocked Plame’s efforts saying, “Her ridiculous attempt to shut down his first amendment is the only clear violation and expression of hate and intolerance in this equation.”
Conservatives have long championed the idea of pardoning Libby.
