President Trump’s tenure has marked a significant uptick in the respect and admiration shown for our veterans and war heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Nowhere was this more evident than during Memorial Day services at Arlington National Cemetery.
Trump changed up his plans, going out of his way to visit what is known as Section 60, an area reserved for those who gave their lives in the Global War on Terror since 2001.
Via Fox News Insider:
President Trump took a detour during his trip to Arlington National Cemetery in order to visit the graves of those Americans lost in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Trump took a walk over to Section 60, which is dedicated to those who gave their lives in service from 2001 to the present.
Grieving family members were proud to see Trump and Vice President Pence visit.
The unscheduled stop made for some incredibly touching moments with grieving family members.
People ask why I so enthusiastically support our POTUS, @realDonaldTrump.

The boy pictured above is Christian Jacobs, who wore a replica uniform of his late father, Christopher Jacobs, a Marine Sgt. who was killed during a training accident in 2011.
The President gave Christian a high five upon meeting the young boy.

“Your father would be so proud of you,” Trump told Jacobs. It was truly a tear-jerking moment on such an emotional day.

Christian was featured in a New York Post article in 2015 about Memorial Day services at Arlington, in which he pleaded with his father to come back to him.
“I hope for you to come back soon, Daddy,” he said. “And I love you and hope for you to be here.”
In his Memorial Day speech, Trump honored Gold Star families by saying their fallen loved ones were “angels sent to us by God.”
“They all share one title in common—and that is the title of ‘hero’—real heroes,” the President said. “Though they were only here for a brief time before God called them home, their legacy will endure forever.”
One of the first things President Trump did after his inauguration in January was to visit Arlington and lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
This man truly loves and respects our men and women in uniform.
