Today, President Donald J. Trump welcomed Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the White House. Just before the historic press conference, they shook hands in the Oval Office… for 19 seconds.
As President Trump opined, “I shook hands but I grabbed him and hugged him because that’s the way I feel.”
Here is the extended handshake:

A lot happened during the 19-second handshake between Donald Trump and Japan’s Shinzō Abe. pic.twitter.com/kIlLB3Izy8

Twitter can’t stop talking about the look on Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s face. In my opinion, he looks quite happy to be dealing with such a serious business leader in the White House, instead of a left-wing community activist.
Reviews on Twitter were mixed:
@sarahcpr @SteveKopack it’s… the yanking. why is there yanking? who does that?

@SteveKopack I’ve had relationships shorter than that handshake

At least he didn’t bow and give a wimpy handshake, like we would expect from Barack Obama.
