As I write, tax reform is almost as good as passed. The House has officially re-passed the Republican tax bill 224-201 after the Senate stripped out a couple items early this morning, and it’s now off to President Donald Trump’s desk for signing. It’ll mark his first major legislative achievement – and he’s killing two birds with one stone, as this bill rips the heart out of Obamacare by repealing the individual mandate.

No Democrats backed the bill, and a dozen House GOP members voted no, but that was irrelevant (as was the fact that John McCain didn’t show up for the Senate vote). This morning, Trump took to Twitter (where else?) to congratulate congressional Republicans for their hard work – including one lawmaker in particular whom he’s feuded with in the past: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
I would like to congratulate @SenateMajLdr on having done a fantastic job both strategically & politically on the passing in the Senate of the MASSIVE TAX CUT & Reform Bill. I could have not asked for a better or more talented partner. Our team will go onto many more VICTORIES!

McConnell personally responded with a GIF of…. himself:
I'm glad we could pass #TaxReform for the American people pic.twitter.com/3S1bsC2dTV

This was big, especially given how much Trump has ripped on McConnell in the past:
The only problem I have with Mitch McConnell is that, after hearing Repeal & Replace for 7 years, he failed! That should NEVER have happened!

Other Republican leaders joined in to celebrate, some of which have had a shaky relationship with Trump:

Today, Congress approved a once-in-a-generation tax reform bill. Now, this historic legislation will be sent to the president’s desk so Americans can start 2018 with a new tax code. pic.twitter.com/gvMK9UY9lp

Thank you to my colleagues in the House for their support of this final tax reform bill. Together, both houses of Congress have accomplished a historic victory through these tax cuts, a significant step toward helping middle class families across Texas and the country.

Hilariously, you can head over to the liberal side of Twitter if you want to see what a state of absolute disarray looks like. Perhaps my favorite talking point (though “propaganda” would be a more fitting term) is that the bill “steals” from the American public. It’s a talking point you’d have to be a communist to make – because who else thinks that everyone’s income belongs to the government?
It’s also a bit bizarre that people wanting to keep more of their own money is greed, but liberals wanting to take it to spend on freebies isn’t.
The hysteria isn’t worth sharing, but the mockery of it is:
To the confused liberal the government “allowing” you to keep more of the money you earned is “robbery.” These are troubled individuals. They sincerely believe that your hard work is all for their benefit. It’s a deranged mindset but it’s pervasive on the Left. Shame. https://t.co/Llly9CqPyU

Condolences to the families of those slain last night by the tax bill. I personally lost a brother. Well, I mean, I never had a brother, technically, but he probably would have died from keeping more of his money, so same thing.

Ironically, Dianne Feinstein took to Twitter to complain that the bill raises taxes on the wealthy, without realizing that she was complaining about the bill raising taxes on the wealthy.
To review, the #GOPTaxPlan:
• Unfairly harms Californians by limiting state and local deductions.
• Raises taxes on millions of middle-class families.
• Balloons the federal deficit. The Senate will vote on this bill in a matter hours. It's a disaster.

You know Dianne, maybe if your state didn’t tax the living hell out of their citizens, they wouldn’t be running into that problem.
