Trump Lashes Out at ‘Perverts and Losers’ in Lincoln Project Over Attack Ad
After the neoconservative-tinged Never Trump group the Lincoln Project ran an ad portraying Donald Trump as feeble, the 2024 presidential candidate took to Truth Social to give them a piece of his mind.
Addressing the “perverts and losers” there, Trump wrote…
‘Perverts and Losers’
The Lincoln Project itself is made up of establishment Republicans who deem themselves “above” Trump and the great unwashed masses who support him. The stated “mission” on their website reads: “Help us defeat Trump and Trumpism.”
Considering “Trumpism” is supported by the great majority of Republican voters, what they really mean is they oppose letting the unsophisticated dupes in “fly-over country” have any power over their own country.
The Lincoln Project’s new ad cast Trump is a bad light including him having difficulty pronouncing words and speculating about his mental capabilities – an ironic, if uninspiring attempt to turn the tables on Joe Biden’s own mental deficiency.
Lincoln Project co-founder Rick Wilson shared a post in response to Trump’s comments:
“Listen, you shambling pantloaf, we didn’t need AI to make you look like an impotent, drooling codger in steep cognitive decline. @ProjectLincoln just showed reality and you can’t take it. Stay tuned for more. We know you can’t look away.” Nothing better than a using a made-up word to perfectly get your point across. (See Wilson’s post, along with Trump’s full post, below.)
Accusations of Sexual Harassment
Trump calling the Lincoln Project “perverts and losers” likely stems from allegations in 2021 that one of its co-founders was accused of sexually harassing multiple men.
NBC News reported in February 2021:
The influential anti-Donald Trump group Lincoln Project is denouncing one of its co-founders after multiple reports that over several years he sexually harassed young men looking to break into politics.
The Lincoln Project in a statement on Sunday called co-founder John Weaver, 61, “a predator, a liar, and an abuser” following reports that he repeatedly sent unsolicited and sexually charged messages online to young men, often while suggesting he could help them get work in politics.
The report added, “The totality of his deceptions are beyond anything any of us could have imagined and we are absolutely shocked and sickened by it,” the Lincoln Project, the most prominent ‘Never Trump’ Republican super PAC to emerge during the 45th president’s time in the White House, said in its statement.”
