No news network would ever give up an opportunity to have an exclusive interview with the president of the United States. And Fox News wasn’t about to pass up an impromptu talk with President Trump, who decided to crash the set of “Fox & Friends” this morning while it was filming on the White House lawn.
Now, it’s well known that Trump’s favorite Fox show is “Fox & Friends,” which is more of a variety show than a hard news program. But Trump decided he wanted to break some hard news on the normally light broadcast.
Wow, the highest rated (by far) morning show, @foxandfriends, is on the Front Lawn of the White House. Maybe I’ll have to take an unannounced trip down to see them?

What Trump really wanted to discuss was yesterday’s release of the inspector general report that documented all of former FBI Director James Comey’s foibles in probing Hillary Clinton’s illegal email server use. What we learned from the report was nothing short of damning. Comey was not only careless but also broke many FBI protocols himself in the course of the Clinton investigation. (REPORT: IG Watchdog: James Comey Broke the Rules in Hillary Clinton Investigation).
President Trump, who fired James Comey, wanted to make sure the whole world understood that Comey was not the stand-up guy he portrays himself to be. That’s why he rushed down to the Fox News cameras to make his case that Comey is a criminal.
Axios reports:
President Trump, during a semi-surprise appearance on Fox & Friends Friday morning, said that the Justice Department’s inspector general report, which ultimately concluded that then-FBI Director James Comey was not politically biased and that any political biases that did exist did not compromise the FBI’s work, was wrong, and that what Comey did “was criminal.”

Here is possibly the worst part of Comey’s behavior:
IG found that on numerous occasions, COMEY used a personal GMail account to conduct official FBI business, according to source briefed on the report.

You can’t use a private email address to conduct personal government business as the FBI director. That’s a huge no-no. Even Hillary Clinton learned a similar lesson the hard way.
If James Comey’s reputation wasn’t in tatters before, it is now. And it couldn’t have happened to a more sanctimonious guy.
