Chicago as a city has proven itself incapable of dealing with their own crime problem.
They have an epidemic of gun violence that they’ve tried to solve through gun control, which, in turn, led to only more gun violence as the law-abiding are unable to protect themselves, and criminals obtain guns on the black market.
And it was last year that gun homicides in the city truly exploded:
A number of the street gangs responsible for much of the carnage are known to have large numbers of illegal immigrants among their ranks (La Raza, MS-13, Latin Kings, among many others), and yet Chicago’s Mayor Rahm Emmanuel is among those sanctuary city mayors adamantly defying Trump on immigration.
For those reasons, Trump is sending federal help to Chicago to help clean up the problem in his initiative to “make America safe again” five months after threatening to do so.

Months after taking to Twitter to say he would send in “the Feds” to help reduce Chicago’s murder rate, President Trump’s administration has sent in agents to combat the ongoing violence.
Authorities confirmed Thursday to The Chicago Sun-Times about 20 additional agents with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives have been sent to the city.
Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions appeared to confirm Friday that the federal government is sending help, while decrying the crime epidemic on the city’s streets.

Of course, there will be a legal hurdle to fight, as everything Trump does seems to result in some kangaroo court ruling against him before being eventually overturned. Trump wouldn’t be the first President to do something like this however, as there are twelve times in history that Presidents have brought in the military for a domestic situation.
The only problem I see with this is that Chicago isn’t the only city that’s had the liberals in charge allow the city to be overrun with crime.
Hopefully Trump’s sending in of federal law enforcement will have a significant impact on Chicago’s crime epidemic. Like Obama before him, Trump is cleaning up after the mistakes of another failed Democrat who would rather collect votes instead of fight crime.
