Multiple sources are reporting that the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) will turn down an invitation to meet the President of the United States for a variety of weak reasons, one of which is because they don’t want “to be a co-star on the reality show.”
Ironic, considering most on the Democrat side of the aisle haven’t accepted the reality that Trump is their president.
Pay close attention to the other reasoning behind their refusal to meet with the president.
Politico reports:
The Congressional Black Caucus is expected to reject an invitation to meet with President Donald Trump, according to four sources close to the group.
The Trump administration, sources said, has done nothing to advance the CBC’s priorities since the group’s executive board first met with Trump in March. And members are worried the request for a caucus-wide meeting would amount to little more than a photo op that the president could use to bolster his standing among African-Americans.
“No one wants to be a co-star on the reality show,” said one senior Democratic aide.
Catch that?
“Has done nothing to advance the CBC’s priorities.”
But take a look at what the invitation, received by the 49-member group last week, specifically stated. The White House invite, penned by aide Omarosa Manigault, states “As requested by the president, we would like to schedule a follow-up meeting with the entire membership of the Congressional Black Caucus to discuss issues pertinent to your members.”
What better way to ‘advance the CBC’s priorities’ than to ‘discuss pertinent issues’?
The CBC website explains that the group is “a non-partisan organization” with “a long history of bipartisan collaboration.”
That clearly has been thrown out the window in the era of Trump. It’s pretty embarrassing and does nothing to further the interests of their constituents.

And despite the reasons mentioned above, ridiculous in their own right, there was one other excuse for not wanting to meet with the president or his aide, Manigault, an African-American.
Several members of the CBC said they were put off that Manigault signed the invitation as “the Honorable Omarosa Manigault,” saying she hasn’t earned that title.

Can you just imagine if a member of the Trump Administration said they were put off by one of the members of the CBC calling themselves ‘honorable?’
The cries of racism would be deafening.
