Trump Appears To Want Investigation Of Clinton Campaign

President Donald Trump hinted Tuesday at the existence of hidden files on former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton at the Department of Justice, quoting Fox News commentator Judge Andrew Napolitano.

“Somebody in the Justice Department has a treasure trove of evidence of Mrs. Clinton’s criminality at her own hands, or through others, that ought to be investigated,” Napolitano said Monday evening on the “The Story With Martha MacCallum.”

Trump tweeted early Tuesday morning:

During an interview with Judge Jeanine Saturday, Trump said there should be an investigation into Clinton’s campaign, that someone should “Look into it because what they did is really fraudulent.” Trump added that, “By somebody, I’m talking about, you know who,” but wouldn’t say whether he was referring to his own attorney general or someone else.

Napolitano suggested that when Trump said “you know who” in an interview with MacCallum Saturday should investigate Clinton’s misdeeds, he was referring to special counsel Robert Mueller, not Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Mueller has been investigating Russian attempts to influence the 2016 presidential election, and Trump has insisted that there was no collusion between his campaign and the Kremlin.

In later tweets Tuesday, Trump quoted other figures who have said that there was no evidence of collusion.
