Trump Blasts Obama: He’s Done Nothing For Blacks

The media is now going after Donald Trump for a year-old tweet in which he claimed President Obama was doing such a poor job that America “won’t see another black president for generations.”

In November of 2014, Trump tweeted the following:

In an interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl, the offending tweet was mentioned and Trump, in his usual bombastic style, refused to back down.  He claimed that Obama’s very poor performance in both the Hispanic and African-American communities would actually help him win those voter demographics.

In an interview on ABC’s This Week with Jonathan Karl on Sunday, candidate for president Donald Trump predicted he would win the black and Hispanic vote because President Obama has done such a poor job with those communities.

“They have problems now in terms of unemployment numbers, look at their unemployment numbers. And you have — here you have a black president who’s done very poorly for the African-Americans of this country,” Trump said in the interview broadcast Sunday.

“And I think that I will win the African-American vote, and I think I will win the Hispanic vote,” Trump predicted. “And if you see the recent polls that came out, Jon, you’ll see that because I’m leading in the Hispanic vote.”

Listen to the exchange below …

Trump makes a difficult argument, as historically African-Americans vote for the Democrat candidate at absurd rates ranging near the 90% mark.

Still, under President Obama, the black community has lagged behind all other races in terms of income, employment, and education.

And even while the economy has improved in recent months, African-Americans still suffer an unemployment rate twice that of white Americans.

Via the IB Times:

In February, the unemployment rate for African-Americans was 10.4 percent, while the comparable rates for whites, Hispanics and Asians were 4.7 percent, 6.6 percent and 4.0 percent, in that order, according to data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Friday. The national unemployment rate was 5.5 percent last month. Last year, 23.7 percent of those who were black and unemployed had attended some college, 15.4 percent had bachelor’s degrees and 4.5 percent had advanced degrees.

None of these statistics are going to change under a President Clinton or a President Sanders, as they will simply continue the same Obamanomics that have held down the black community in terms of jobs.

Will an 8-year track record of poor economic policies for African-Americans be enough to gain votes for Trump should he win the nomination?

Sports commentator, Stephen A. Smith, recently stunned liberals everywhere when he explained that he has a dream – “that for one election… every black person in America vote Republican.”

Maybe Trump would be the beneficiary of such a revolt.

Comment – Do you think Trump has any chance of winning the African-American vote in the presidential election?
