Top Trump Man Steven Bannon Removed from National Security Council

In the midst of controversy, there has been a major shakeup in the Trump administration.

Trump’s right-hand man and chief strategist Steven Bannon has reportedly been removed from the National Security Council.

Bannon’s initial appointment on the council was viewed as unusual at best, and very controversial at worst by his critics.

Bannon is known as one of the producers of the mega-hit TV show SeinfeldĀ and the former top executive of Breitbart News.

According to Bloomberg:

President Donald Trump reorganized his National Security Council on Wednesday, removing his chief strategist, Stephen Bannon, and downgrading the role of his Homeland Security Adviser, Tom Bossert, according to a person familiar with the decision and a regulatory filing.

National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster was given responsibility for setting the agenda for meetings of the NSC or the Homeland Security Council, and was authorized to delegate that authority to Bossert, at his discretion, according to the filing.

The move was controversial because the National Security Council typically includes major defense figures, like the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Secretary of Defense, and CIA Director.

So far the move is just described as a shakeup, and nothing has yet been reported as to why Bannon was removed.

This comes in the wake of a scandal involving members of the defense community leaking harmful materials about the Trump administration and the Susan Rice ‘unmasking’ scandal.

What is really happening over there? Will Trump let us know what’s going on?
