Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) is starring in a new campaign ad from the Republican National Committee that ridicule’s President Joe Biden’s calls for “unity” and “socialist dreams” being pushed by the Democrats.
In the ad, Scott points out Biden’s Inauguration Day pledge of bringing the country together.
“A president that promised to bring us together should not be pushing agendas that tear us apart. Our best future will not come from Washington scheme and socialist dreams, it will come from you, the American people,” Scott says in the opening.
In the Reaganesque message, Scott predicts that “our finest hour is yet to come.”

President Joe Biden, Moderate Or Progressive?
As Joe Biden enters the sixth month of his presidency, and with a 2022 midterm election that Republicans feel very good about given the actions of the Biden administration thus far, the GOP have done their best to portray Joe Biden as progressive Democrats’ best friend – a guy who spent almost 40 years in the Senate and was described as a moderate, but now as president is beholden to the most radical voices of the Democrat Party.
Biden has faced opposition to his $1.9 trillion COVID relief package, legislation that White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki called “the most progressive bill in American history.” Not a single Republican voted for the bill.
Republicans also recently struck down a move to create a 9/11-style commission to investigate the events of January 6, when Trump supporters entered the Capitol building. Biden had stated that he supported such a commission.
New: Biden's first full budget recommendations include sweeping new proposals — trillions on infrastructure, free pre-K and community college — and increases to a range of domestic programs aimed at boosting public health and programs for the poor. https://t.co/vBZKdN5XpQ

Republicans Feeling Confident About 2022
Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel touted the 30-second seven-figure ad buy that features Scott, and is also beginning a year in advance of the 2022 campaign.
“Joe Biden has offered nothing but divisive partisanship and failed policies. With Americans more divided than ever, thanks to his failed leadership, the Republican Party is proud to offer a better vision for America, which is why we are bringing our conservative message of unity and prosperity to the national airwaves. Our winning Republican agenda will triumph over Democrats’ politics of division and lead our nation towards a better, brighter future.”
The RNC transferred $5 million a piece to the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the National Republican Congressional Committee, a sign that their fundraising is strong.

Democrats Used ‘Jim Crow Filibuster’ To Stop Scott’s Police Reform Bill
Last Summer, Democrats had a chance to prove their willingness to work with Republicans when it was Tim Scott who introduced a police reform bill called the Justice Act. The bill included a number of things Democrats wanted in police reform legislation.
Instead of coming to the table with President Biden in tow, they attacked Scott for his efforts, and filibustered the legislation.
This is despite recent attempts by Democrats to portray the filibuster as a tool of ‘Jim Crow.’ Doubly ironic is that Tim Scott is a black man.
Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) called it a “token half-hearted approach,” and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi called it “trying to get away with murder, actually. The murder of George Floyd.”
Even after Scott offered numerous concessions and various ways to work together on the bill, Democrats then proceeded to filibuster Scott’s bill.
While Democrats continue to play politics with issues like police reform, Tim Scott’s star in the Republican Party will continue to rise. Scott recently stated,
“I have never been more confident in the American family. Republicans have proven to the nation that conservative solutions and commonsense policies could lift millions out of poverty, create a more inclusive economy, and chart a direct path to the American Dream. Our future is in the hands of everyday Americans working hard to support their families and give back to their communities. With Republicans at the helm, we’ll make sure they have every opportunity to succeed.”
